I wish I had one of those cameras in my boat....

Took my 6 year old out today w/hopes of him getting his first swimbait fish and me getting something worthy of posting in the SUB tourney. Mostly craptacular. B can't throw the big baits yet, so I had him throwing small stuff and he had a few bumps but after a while wound up switching over and catching lots of bream.

One dink on a triple trout for me. I had so many quality fish follows and shows that I felt like I was musky fishing. Just couldn't get them to commit, I know I tried. At one point I had made a cast where a creek bed runs parallel to a shore with some brush. I start the retrieve with the bait too far out to see so I take my eyes off the line of cast to scan the shoreline. I hear a HUGE "kawooooooosh". I expect a giant striper or bass, but as I turn my head I don't feel anything. My son is going nuts "did you SEE THAT!?!!?!" I only got to see the osprey taking off out of the water (luckily without my bait). I only had my head turned for about 2 seconds. I can only imagine how fast and from where that bird came in. A camera would have caught the action for sure.

In a blatant knock-off of cheese-whats-his-face, this trip/report was brought to you by:

Chocolate chip eggo waffles

Propel

Gushers

Cheddar and sour cream Ruffles.
