Fatika79
I'm mostly throwing 3/4 - 1.5 oz swimbaits on this rod that's rated up to 1.5 oz. I would like to try a Deps 145 slide swimmer at 1.8 oz, without having to purchase another rod, as I do not plan on throwing anything bigger. Does anyone have experience with this rod, throwing baits a little bit over it's rating? Any feedback welcome. Thanks.
BigSpirit
I would take a guess and say it could probably throw it. I’ve lately started throwing an swaver 168 on my fury 734 that’s only rated to 1oz. I think the bait is a hair over 1.5 oz. In my opinion it feels fine, but I also don’t whip my casts. I would imagine as long as you take it easy with the casting motion you won’t have any issues. The best thing you can do is tie it on and give it a rip.
