CPBassFishing Posted September 4, 2013 Report Share Posted September 4, 2013 Here's a really ugly rat I made. Unrefined and its the first bait I made but it moves a ton of water on a medium retrieve. Not much action on a slow retrieve; I think I need to move the eyelet right onto the nose. It had a worm for a tail but I didn't like the action so I changed it up to a tail similar to what is on the 3:16 wakes. It twitches well and the tail makes a nice slap. The bait is pine covered in epoxy and the tail is balsa I cut with a razor. The hooks are ST-58's (size 1). The tail is attached with a double ring from an old frog.
