Matthew Koo
Is the Shimano Curado 200e7 any good for swimbaits? My heaviest bait is the bullshooter 160 SS which is 3.7 oz. Is that reel capable of handling baits up to 4 oz? Really need help rn I’m trying to buy a new reel and idk if I should buy the Shimano Curado 200e7. If there are other reels you guys recommend budget is 150 but under 200 will do. please help me out still kinda new to the Swimbait game. Morph808
Still a very solid reel as long as you take good care of it. Holds enough line for 17lb CXX which is a thick 17lb line. Parts for the older reels are getting tougher to source, but it's a classic. Otherwise the Curado 200K, Tatula 200HS, Daiwa Coastal 200, and Lews Super Duty are good stalwarts. 5-20
It might work in a pinch but you’ll control your casts much better with 1.5 oz plus baits with a 300 sized reel.
Bass478
I love my 200E for smaller baits. Have had it for years no problems.
