Calico Mission

I recently had the chance to head to Long Beach and target some calico bass. Fishing was tough at first, but we got on some good ones at the end of the day. Fishing calicos was the most stimulating style of fishing I have ever experienced. There is so much anticipation when you are standing up on the deck while trying to balance and, at the same time, bombing your swimbait as close to the boilers as possible. Once you get bit you get to feel how strong the fish are and they are damn strong. I am now ruined for lake bass fishing. Amazing experience.

Nice work. Clemente is the place!

Justin is a great guy. Were you fishing with Benny over there too?

I was there 2 weeks ago and we had a good day. A few between 6-8lbs to top off the day!

The big hardbaits work well over there - just ask Mr Ellis ;)

Yep, I fished with Benny and Justin. Sounds like you had an awesome day. Those fish are studs.

I'm glad it all worked out man. Benny is a great dude and always puts guys on fish. There is nothing in the world better than catching a monster calico. Mission Accomplished!! Congrats.

Thanks Mike. Those calicos are such amazing fish; they will ruin anyone from fishing freshwater again.
