Chase Posted January 5, 2014 Report Share Posted January 5, 2014 Well decided to fish a tourney on saturday mainly because it was suppose to be overcast. In the last few weeks i have missed several fish and kind of been on a bit of a slump. Went to the first spot and within 20 min had a 6 comeout and slam it but some how missed the hooks....already starting to think "i can see how this day is gonna go". Decided to just leave that spot right away because of the bad ju ju in that cove lol. Roll up to next spot and bam 4.5 lber. Right on. Move down bank and a few more follows. Switch banks and after a couple casts see a nice fish come out and grab the bait and set the hook...get it in the boat and thinking alright now we got a shot...fish went 8.8lbs...30yds down the bank and bam 5lber... Thinkin sweet... Ended up snaggin a dink on top water when they were busting early so had 4 fish in the boat by 8:30am....figured another 4lber and we would hit 20lbs and stand a good chance of winning it....next 5.5hours zero...move to different area and start using small conventional crap because we badly need the last fish...partner ends up sticking a small dink that probably didnt go a lb...weight in 18.25lbs and take 1st and big fish...2nd place was only .50lbs behind us so the dink made a difference lol.
