jcw
My apologies if this has already been posted, but I did a search and did not see any information on Mattlures' new Hammer Tail. Given that these have been out for a few weeks what is the consensus? I have read that the tail has more of a "thump" than a vortex, but any additional information would be greatly appreciated. Is it have a swim that is similar to the Burrito Gill or is it completely new? Thanks!
Primus
I'm not familiar with the Burrito tail. I will share my initial thoughts , that said I have less than 2 hours with the bait and though I 've had a couple of bumps I'm still working on my first catch so take my comments for whatever it's worth . As promised the bait has a nice thump but without the exaggerated motion of most paddle tail swimbaits, very realistic swimming motion. The one thing I like abut this bait is that it stays subsurface better when swimming at slow to medium retrieves verses the previous Bluegill swimmers that I've tried . That is not meant as a criticism of the previous Matt's baits as they are proven producers of trophy bass . That said I'm very confident that this is going to be another winner in the Matt's line-up and I think you will like it .
