One thing I can add is that the “conventional” reels over seas are extremely well built. I can honestly say every reel I ran into was a high end daiwa. Those reels are built so well that they can handle the load. Also, the don’t need deep spool capacity because they usually are bank fishing and they are using braid. The fish they go for in Thailand make bass look like bluegills, haha. I personally was using a Z2020 and a J-dream zillion.
