I only fished a couple of times since 2016, just a quick hit on a pond but recently moved back to where there's water and dusted off the old gear. A friend invited me to go with him Friday and knowing the history of the lake, I took my bigger baits and a couple of wakebaits, including the Mikey that I don't think I'd ever thrown before. We pull up to this grassy hump on our second stop and three casts later I have the big fish, 9.4 on the Mikey! Dumbass me didn't think to put the gopro on before starting to fish so I didn't get that one on video. I so wish I'd had the video going on the big one - the strike was one of the most violent bait violations I've ever seen. This fishing stuff is fun! Who knew?
