Chazzy
I want to pick up a rod that will be dedicated for big softies. I want to pick up a dobyns 807, but in the past i have found dobyns ratings to be poor and unreliable. I plan to throw battleshad 9.0s and a defiant 247, which is around 7 ounces with exposed jig hooks. what do you guys think? i would love any feedback, and if the 8078 wont do it can the 908? thanks SU
MattGbaz
If your throwing 5+oz softs I’d go with the 908. That extra power and lengths helps with long casts and plenty of backbone for hook sets. I throw both those baits on the 908. Also on softbaits I prefer a rod that doesn’t feel underpowered
