Swimbait Underground x Rago Baits Collaboration D3 is now available. D (dirty bill) 3 (three piece) hard body with soft Rago signature split tail. 6.5” hard body and 3.5” soft tail equal 11” overall length in a thin round profile. Two line ties located at the nose of the bait and under chin. Colors include Silver Side and Dirt Bag.
Jerry Rago introduced the dirty bill in his past drop of the Dirty Rat. A diamond shape bill that offers a different experience versus a traditional rectangular or coffin shaped bill. The dirty bill leaves a different signature in the water. Along with a quicker responding bait and bottom digging/tracking.
3 piece body was a progression from Jerry’s original 2 piece top trout. The fish catching success of the 2 piece top trout runs true in the 3 piece model. Depending on the speed of the retrieve the bait has a different action and knock.
2 line ties offer a true wake or crank bait in one. Top line tie on the nose for cranking deep. Clip in with your choice of snap and crank an area. Subsurface or bottom cranking utilizing a unique tracking from the diamond bill.
Lower line tie for waking on the surface. Clip into and wake at speeds of slow to moderate. Speed up to crank ~ inches below the surface. Mix it up between a waking retrieve or quickly crank down above grass tops.
Walking a shoreline or targeting a point via boat the strategy is the same. Fan cast and wake the area for any active surface eaters. If you get a blow up on the surface and don’t connect, continue the retrieve and quickly crank down.
After waking that area, unclip from the bottom line tie and clip into the nose line tie. Now fan cast that same area cranking deeper searching for non surface eaters. Swimming through the water column, bouncing into hard cover and bottom tracking with the diamond bill.
