  1. When I first started fishing, I went straight to tournament fishing (bad idea ) and there was this one guy that was towing his bass boat with a vette. So If you can afford a boat and a vette, go for it!

    Love me some footballs!
  3. Damn. I go to Maui almost every year and I snorkel a lot. That's some scary ish.
  4. I guess we all have our differences! To me big game is the ultimate swimbait line if you consider price, quality and availability. I trust it so much that I only respool till I can't stand the line memory (I know bad practice). I also noticed that the bulk spools have better quality. I switched once to CXX - casted off a bait twice!!! Yikes. I like it when it's new but after a week's use, it easily kinks and I believe that's where it's breaking me off. I still have to try P Line though. Don, should I try P line??? LOL. I think I know the answer!
  5. Me and Chad hashed out our differences. Nothing to see here. Move along.
  6. No, I'm actually saying the opposite. I'm saying you don't have enough big fish to be able to speak on the subject. I think everyone would agree that I was very clear on that. And as far as fishing with Manny, that spot would've been my first choice since I'm most familiar with that type of structure. To expand on the subject, all day the fish were just following and not committing. I noticed that they would follow and as soon as they see us, they would go away. So I figured I'd just let my bait sink deeper and not let it rise up top. That's how I got the only fish on that trip. This is not taking anything away from Manny. Manny is a great guide as you can see from his videos and clients. But I think we are getting away from the subject. This is all about judging fish pic since you were the one who doubted R8R's winning fish. To illustrate further, here are three different fish with different perspectives. First pic is a fish either 4 or 5 lbs. Second fish is an 8, arms extended out. Third fish is a hair over 10, arms relatively close to my body. The smallest looking fish is actually the biggest one!
  7. We'll you are wrong on the guided trip part. That trip was actually a meeting between LDC and Manny Chee. I just tagged along. I caught the fish at the back of the boat with my own tactic and observations and no instructions from anyone. I can expand on that if you wish. I went bass fishing 7 times this year. I caught 3 fish, all on swimbaits. Two under two pounds and the other one a 9. I think that's an OK record considering how much I went out. But what's that got to do with judging fish pics? Ok, let's follow your logic. You've been fishing quite a bit this year right? What's your biggest? If we are just looking at this years catch, then certainly you are not qualified to judge a pic of an 11 lber. Is this officially a fishbeef?
  8. I had a carrot stix once. It broke on the first day. Luckily I was able to get a replacement.
  9. haha, I grew up dirt poor in East texas. I've eaten more 7-10 lb fish than most bass fishermen will ever see. I maintain my stance that something isn't quite right... but then again, I don't live in Cali so I can't possibly know what a big fish looks like. In the spirit of Swimbait Underground tradition I'm gonna pull the "pics or it didn't happen" card.
  10. No doubt in my mind that this is a double digit. It's hard to judge the size of a bass by pictures because most people have been posting pics with their arms extended (guilty as charged). R8R's arms are clearly not extended and you have to look for other clues like how big the tail and mouth compared to the hands. I would be more skeptical if a person is extending his arms and claiming it's a double digit. Can't judge a fish's size if you haven't really held a 7, let alone an 11. Just my 2 cents. No fishbeef here.
  11. Congrats dude! This is what swimbaiting is all about!
  12. Congrats Bigworm!!!!! Is this your second time winning a giveaway? You should buy a lotto ticket.
  13. What a great fish! I'm so stoked just by watching it.
  14. Welcome to the addiction!
  15. You can buy the springs at home depot but they come in a box of different sized springs. The box of springs cost about $5.00. If part of the spring is still lodged in the bait, just drill it out, fill it with epoxy and insert the spring. Make sure to hold the spring till it hardens a little bit so the spring would set straight. I have an extra spring I can send to you if you PM me your address. Butch has been so kind to me so I just want to pass on the kindness.
  16. I didn't buy a bait but I had a good time. I pretty much hung out the whole day with Ben (Echoedd), MannyChee, Austin (SwimbaitsLMV), Evan (Unbreakable_bassin), and Luke V. I also saw and chatted with a few other members of the board. But the highlight for me is when I got to talk to Butch. What a great guy! Talked to him for quite a bit and he shared some incredible knowledge. Wow! I feel like my fishing knowledge just doubled! I can't wait to put the things he shared into practice. I remember watching his 18 pounder on video and that inspired me to fish swimbaits. I'm truly honored. Thank you Butch!
