Get you an MH 8ft casting rod(my prefference), rated up to 12lb, some LC in metallic sardine and any of the other california inshore series colors... and have at it.. Leave the sand crabs, blood worms,etc alone unless you want to fish that stuff...... Megabass ito vision 110 work great as well... Depending where you're at you'll get halis, bared surf perch, wsb, stripers etc... You can also DS flukes... Only time I drop shot is surf fishing... Have fun... Halis will be going off soon!!

In your oppinion, what makes them substandard?? I hear this a lot about various bait manufacturers and there is never a descriptive or intelligent thought(review) about a particular bait... Please use the review section to post your thoughts about any particular because it may help someone in the future. Sure I could go on forums and say this bait sucks or is great but it's not very informative or helpful in a forum setting...

Still love this thread!! I guess post counts makes you an "authority swimbaiter"!!! Most people I know that "kill it" avoid forums for this very reason. Been here from "DAY 1" and guys with less time have double, tripple the posts I do... SO they must be in the "KNOW" I take it as they spend more time trolling then OTW.... I find it amusing the site "GIVES" away a bait most would never purchase on their own and cry foul... It's a bait, it's free... Everyone had the same opportunity as the next if you chose to participate... So it looks like some hustled for votes, boo hoo!!

Lol!! No drama just a lot of rules for fishing a bait!! I must be missing something because knowbody has even put up a bait sans myself and Cesar and I kept it simple for how I want the bait to be used. I'm not worried about post counts, got'em section, black market... Hopefully whoevers hands the bait lands in is honest, fishes hard and passes it on. That was the whole point of this no???

I think you guys are over thinking this. Really all anyone needs is the proper gear to throw x bait, post pics and send it on. In the end it's fishing and a bait. Ish happens, baits get snapped off, broken off etc.... Personally, I'm not worried over a $100 bait. Whoever decides to participate, just be honest about the status and whereabouts of the baits being used. If guys are worried about losing a bait, don't fish it and send it to the next guy. Simple really.

I have a 12"TT I'll throw in. As soon as I get it back from getting painted, I'll send it out. Only requirements are you have the proper set-up to throw it (no noodle sticks) and post pics of any fish you stick. These things only work on an honor system and you can't judge character etc on post counts!! Whose up first??? Pm me and I'll post who I send it to.

If swimbaiting was easy, everyone would do it!! Keep doing what you're doing but I'll add this. What is the take away after each session? What were you doing when fish were stalking your bait? There is no magic twitch, cast or bait. Time on the water and learning from each session will give you success in the future!! Plus you've learned that chucking baits is a grind and you're still at it. Keep it up, the fish will come!!
