i had the frame separted. i couldnt figure out how to pop out the entire gearbox to get to the spool beneath it. or i was just too scared that the little springs shimano love to use would fly everywhere

hi, i just got this reel in mail this morning. i eagerly opened it up to change the factory brake setting and some lubing, but i cant seem to figure out how to pop out the gearbox to get to the spool.

i dont think you can go wrong with remington 870 express 12 GA. very solid and gets it done for beginners. i havent gone bird shooting since 2004, thats what i used back then.

i have never casted off a bait using big game, but i have with izor xxx in the past. i have found a nick in about first 100 yd off of a new spools. sometimes i find it while spooling up the reel, sometime i dont and i casted off like 4 baits from this, thankfully floating baits were retrieved..sinking baits not to lucky..

im not sure if he ever did repaints or touch ups..i sent in my BA to get the broken bill fixed right after thanksgiving and just got the bait back with my wake jr preorder the other day. just shoot them an email, if its fixable, he will fix it.

i have found 12 barely marked on rof12 68 tails, but nothing on the rof5.

I have one. I believe 5oz to 8oz mislead, it should be 5in to 8in. Its sweet spot is 2 to 4oz for me also. Great blank and short handle for smaller baits.

Thanks luke. The tail almost came off today, thinking about trying a hudd tail on that super heavy floater.
