  1. I decided to just modify this bait by changing the tail, lip and joint. The scales don’t look so bad when covered with paint and clear.
  2. Swim vid. FullSizeRender.MOV
  3. This stared as a big popper, but then changed to a walker. I didn’t allow for the teeth so I had to add them afterwards with epoxy putty. I added the remoras as a joke and a friend told me “it never too much”, so I left them on. FullSizeRender.MOV
  4. Does it mop the floors? just joking Tony, nice bait.
  5. I’m from central Florida, but I don’t sell my baits. Like Big Epp I decided a couple years ago to make my own and it has paid off. If you like to get tinker and bet really frustrated and throw stuff around…..you should try it.
  6. I made a silicone mold to make my weights the same size of my drill bits in different sizes. I hot glue the weights will testing then drill a hole and glue them in with superglue and baking soda.
  7. Thanks Dan, but up close they are a disaster
  8. I thought about filling in the holes with milliput but after testing the action I thought it best to start over. I need the practice anyways LOL
  9. I tried to remake an old bait and finally, after and long time of procrastinating, I finally tried to carve scales, which did not come out well. I guess practice will make perfect…….eventually. Going to scrap it and start over, not happy with the action anyways.
  10. I like the second version. Those joints are a pain in the ass. I am working on one now with those joints and it will prob be a fail. nice scales, how did you get them so clean?
  11. Good luck. Shoot a vid. I tried a back hook on a couple glides but could not the the action I wanted.
  12. To make a multi joint bait you are going to prob need to add weight to the additional piece you cut. For fluid movement all pieces should have some type of ballast.
  13. I use this for making molds. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0977SZKPY/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1 and this for the tails. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B082TSMGD2/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1 the second one is softer and clear, but still durable. It does take a while to cure. I use silicone pigment to color them. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B08F2MDY4Z/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1
  14. This is Mortimer. I plan on remaking this bait so it’s not so bulky and more like a traditional rat bait. FullSizeRender.MOV FullSizeRender.mov
  15. I just got this glue and although I have not field tested it, I have tested it on spare baits where I tried to rip it off and it s solid. BUT I would also add a pin anyways just to be sure. I have been securing mine with just pins and have not had one come out yet. I got the glue to experiment with some other “appendages”. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B09WMZLPVS/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1
  16. Thank you gentlemen for the positive comments. I tested the bait in water and it took like a half pound of weight to get it down, which is an exaggeration but you get what I mean. I will need to mold it to continue testing.
  17. A friend mentioned wanting a catfish bait and I though it might be a challenge, so this is my first try at one. Not sure what the action will be yet, maybe suspending or maybe sinking. FullSizeRender.MOV
  18. So cool, would love to catch one like that.
  19. Silicone is a good idea. I found some silicone glue on Amazon I just tried and so far it works, needs more real world testing though.
