  1. All good comments here, just want to throw my two cents in. When I first started throwing swimbaits, I tied with a Palomar knot. I also broke off on my first actual bite. I did some research and a lot of guys were using the San Diego Jam knot for most of their swimbait fishing. I will swear by a single or double San Diego Jam knot. Definitely give it a shot. I also like 20 lb line for most of my swimbait fishing, and make sure my line is very well lubricated when tying. Hope your next outing comes together with a big one!
  2. I'll second the F5 Conceal Carry. It's been a lifesaver for me when I can't bring one of my main rods, and it does the job well. I don't lose any confidence using that rod.
  3. Have a Throwback Flee Shad in Yeti Gill, Phoney Heavyweight Gill Wake, Hiro Billrilla for trade. All in great shape. Throwback and Phoney both have some minor hook points, but neither have seen fish. Looking for WCZ Citizens in Misfit and Militia. Lookong for 6", but 7s are good too. Will consider other colorways. Also looking for Yuniques. Scouts to the top. Any other soft baits you have? Thanks all!

    Rats

Everyone has already mentioned some great rats, but haven't seen anyone mention the Chocolate rat. One of my favorite rats that gets good bites.
  5. Got mine from digitaka.com for around $380 I think. Shipped fast too!
  6. Looking to buy or trade for (Citzens maybe?) some Yunique Gills and Mirror Carps. Let me know what you got!
  7. Just got the GT Swimbaits Grumpy Gill in.
  8. Thanks! I put an order for some stuff on Barlow's. Will definitely check out Janns.
  9. That's awesome, man! I'm a father of two daughters myself and am excited to take them out with swimbaits. Congrats to her and glad you got to enjoy that quality time!
  10. I need a new hobby this winter to occupy my time and am thinking I'll try my hand at some bait making. I apologize if this question has been answered before, but I am wondering if you guys have a one-stop shop for hardware/materials? Where do you get your stuff at? Thanks all!!
  11. Leviathan 8' H with Conquest 300MD, 110 Varial, Cork Knobs F5 8' Ghost Code 1-6oz, Tatula 300, 110 Varial and Flat Knobs
  12. I do the same. Big pegboard and throw what I want in wraps in a backpack when I head out to water.
  13. I find myself reaching for hard baits much more frequently, but a lot of that comes down to where and how I fish. I think throwing the baits that work well for you will bring you the most success. I could throw soft baits all day and probably never catch what some of these other guys do with them. I just don't have the confidence in them and I know my strengths and style of fishing is better for hard baits. All of that said, both will excel in different situations. Also, I think what everyone else said here already is pretty spot on.
