  1. Hey Buttercup heres your Delta DD. I would have kept this one to myself but I know how important it was to you for me to get a Delta DD so I figured I would be nice and share with you. Any more requests?

    HUDD 68

Ive found any kind of pen or pencil wears off through time. I take a paper clip, unravel it, heat the end up, then burn the ROF in the tail. Its permanent. I also make similar notes in the tail that tell me what kind of mod I did to the bait.
  3. For tubing I go to the hardward store and buy fuel line for a weed wacker. Dont use soft bait glue to glue the tube in, it will not stick to the tubing because that stuff seems to only melt the baits soft plastic. Use super glue. To fix the hook tear I do two things. For on water repair any soft bait glue will get you through the day. Make sure the hole is as dry as possible and use as little of the stuff as possible. This is a temporary fix until I get home. Once home, I get a torch and exacto knife. Heat the knife up, insert into tear, squeeze tear together on the knife then remove. Between each time you do this, heat the knife up briefly then wipe off excess plastic stuck to the knife. You can also use the flat side of the knife to smooth out and sculpt the rough edges of the tear. This fix is much more permanent than soft bait glue fixes, and between the two a soft bait will last a very long time.
  4. And PS, nobody can fish on that spot shown in the image.
  5. I dont know, I think he definitely has his priorities in line. He had to air his business because he was put in a position where he had to defend himself. He clearly stated he got himself in a jam and was doing what he had to do to get out of it. I know Ryan well enough to be pretty certain he wouldnt be selling hard to get 316's unless he had a damn good reason, and the reasons he stated seemed pretty damn good to me. The other thing is Ryan has been around for a while, many of us have met him, know him, and like him. Best I can tell nobody knows who you are (but kudos to you for giving us your name, now we know who you are) so thats why a few jumped on your ass. Give the kid a break, hes a straight shooter and a hard worker. The only advice I have for you Ryan is try to sell the baits to people you know with the stipulation that you have the option to buy the bait back in the future (you would be surprised at how well this works!); I know its hard to let go of things you really dont want to let go of.
  6. Hungry, its not a jig trailer Im talking about. I use a bare jighead and more or less swim it on the bottom just like a regular swimbait. I do know people who use it as a traditional jig trailer both for pitching and swimming.
  7. This will not work around submerged weeds but on clean and/or rocky bottoms its the bomb. Thread it on a jighead, very simple and effective. The key is finding the right jighead with a big stout hook, and some even fit the face of the mighty minnow perfectly. Thats important because you will want to super glue the face of the bait to the back of the lead head of the jig.
  8. I looked up the word anomaly in my Websters dictionary. Next to the definition was a picture of Butch Brown smiling holding a 15 pounder. Good deal Butch.
  9. As always Butch, awesome! Looks like you are off to another great start!
  10. Oh, you are right. My bad, I just never dead stick that bait or stop it trying to get it to suspend motionless
  11. My opinion on your comment is that you are regurgitating what others have told you instead of trying the mod yourself and seeing what happens. Ive tried the mod, it works. However, it will roll if you want a faster retrieve, this is strictly for a slow roll.
  12. My buddy is a paramedic and told me super glue was developed to heal wounds "in the field" prior to getting somebody to a hospital. In other words a quick fix to stop major bleeding. Ive never used it on fish but see no reason why it wouldn't work.
  13. Tophook rising son would be too heavy. The bottom hook has the right weighting but unfortunately the hook is on the bottom and will get fouled (btw, this is the exact scenario that ultimately lead to development of the top hook). So, what you can try is to re-route the line through the back of the bottom hook rising son. Now you have the light weight of the rising son with the hook on the back and you should be able to slow roll it over the tops of shallow weeds.
  14. Whether or not a gill hooked fish survives obviously depends on the severity of the damage. If you break a gill arch its over, may as well keep the fish. If just a few of the filaments are busted up the fish most likely will survive, but if a whole bunch are ripped and bleeding survival is a crap shoot. If you have a hook that has completley penetrated through the bone-like part of a gill arch, survival depends on whether you have penetrated a blood vessel. Ive done this where I only went through bone type stuff and the fish was fine, and I had one where it apparently hit a vessel and the fish died (even though there appeared to be no damage). I learned a long time ago to have needle nose pliers and a pair of hook cutters out and ready for when a bass gets hooks in the gills. First and foremost you want to cut your line, get the swimbait detached from the hooks and the swimbait out of the way so you can quickly go to work. Time is of the essence and it sucks to have a trophy bleeding bass in your hands as you fumble to find everything you need. Cut all hook points, dont try to pull out. Hold fish in the water while working on it if possible, and dont put a bleeding fish in a livewell. Release as soon as possible. After release I usually sit there for 5 minutes to see if the fish surfaces, if it does I go get it and work on it a little more. Bass are very tough fish (unlike trout and salmon), they can take alot of rough handling and survive just fine. But sometimes ish just happens and there is nothing you can do about it.
  15. Its Kokanee colored and its the one described as "Floater" on the website. Based on the descriptions of what each bait does on the website this is the one it appears to be. I compared the bill angle to my buddies, and his was the "Heavy Floater", and the angles were identical. Also, his dives deeper than mine.
  16. Mine is brand new, just got it, its a light floater kokanee. Looking for the sinker in kokanee and would want it to be brand new. Staight trade.

    Ahem...

Are those my intentions? Seems to me I tell people Im nothing more than another redneck that likes catching big bass, my edeavors go no further than that. And you are the first person that has ever told me I dont say it like it is, I kinda like that. My problem is Ive always been brutally honest, and most people dont like that. Yep, I picked on Lucas, but you know the story of stones and glass houses. He punched first, I only punched back. He was doing just fine defending himself. And just for the record, Im positive that I knew what a swimbait was before you did. While you were running around naked on a blueberry barren in Maine having spells cast upon you, I was busy fishing.

    Ahem...

Wow, you actually said something that wasnt a lie. Anything negative I have ever said about anyone I have also said to their face. So you arent revealing anything new to anybody here. Ive been straight forward with Matt from day one, spelled out my thoughts to him very clearly, an he knows that should I have additional thoughts that the first thing I will do is call him and tell him to his face. I thought the spot burner video was very funny and laughed my ass off. Why didnt I post anything in that thread (and I dont remember anybody asking me for my opinion)? Because, until this thread, I only post if I have something positive to say or if I think I can help somebody. And after this thread, thats the way it will be. This thread was over. I said what I had to say to Lucas, he understood what I said, I understood what he said, and that was it. Then, in classic Mickey style, you just had to open your mouth and bring this to the sewer. It was already in the sewer, but you brought it to a much stinkier place. I can only only hope that relatively few people read this forum, because this isnt the kind of stuff thats good for anybody. So, are you done yet, did you get it all out of your system? Or is their somebody else you would like to pit me against?

    Ahem...

Ya know, I just have to add this. Mickey, you love to talk about keeping it real and you love to throw around the work poser. Guess what, you are the shining example of who on this forum aint keeping it real (very little of what you say is actually true), and if you want to know about posers, at least in terms of fishing capabilities, well theres much there we can talk about.

LOl again! Most of what you wrote above I understand, the rest of it you are gonna have to work on because it doesnt make any sense, learn to write such that it makes sense. I realize you are goading me into defending myself, and if I do that I do nothing more than make myself look bad. Guess what tough guy, I have no problem with that trade off. Somebody has to do it, may as well be me. First off, you love lies, you are nothing but somebody that lies. You lie about people, and you lie to try to pit people against each other. And you lie when its in your best interest to lie. I knew that about you immediately. So lets answer some of your statements. I figured it out by myself, 100 %. I asked for help, but nobody would help. Im self taught, you know I am, and those who know me know I am. Yes, I read as much as I could and I took that information and coupled it with the foundation I had built on over 30 years of bass fishing experience and applied it to swimbaiting. It took a while, but with the appropriate adjustments I figured it all out myself. And Im still figuring it out by myself. Everything I do, the places I fish, the baits I fish, the timing of the lakes I fish, and the rigging I use (not to mention odd ball retrieves) is all me. Nobody else. Challenge that my friend and back it up with fact and we will get into a great discussion. Matt Allen. You bring this up because you think you are pushing a button and you hope to get a knee jerk reaction out of me that ultimately will make me look like a dumb ass. Aint gonna happen getto man. Nobody but me showed me how to use that bait, and for that matter Matt doesnt really even fish that bait that much. Ive maintained the stance that Matt is generally a good person, hes made a few mistakes, but hes not the monster you are trying to convince the world that he is. This is a stance that has always eaten at you, and to this day you havent been able to explain to me what it is he has done to you to deserve the bashing you give him. He also happens to be a stick. Lets see if we can get him on here to voice his opinion on your statement. So what else you got? Im enjoying this and I have no problem typing. Keep it coming, or ask Rina to type for you.

And PS tough guy, if youve been paying attention to anything Ive had to say or that Ive written, you will know Im humbled to even have the opportunity to throw a swimbait into the waters having the biggest bass in the world, am thankful that my path has given me that opportunity, and that I am well educated on the evolution of swimbaits including who the true studs and innovators were and currently are.

LOL! Now Im having fun, its been a while since Ive had this much fun on a forum. You are off in left field. Heres the thing you are missing my man (or wanksta, seems thats the kind of lingo you understand), and this is really the heart of it, so take off your getto cap and do your best to put your think cap on and understand what Im about to say. I know the conditions NJ anglers face, I know the types of lakes they fish, I know the approaches the bulk of them take on those lakes. When I came here, I was lost, everything was different, I had some major adjustments to make. The learning process for me in CA will be lifelong, but Im making slow progress. And in that process of progress, I can see how my approach to fishing NJ could be or could have been, I realize the differences between here and there, and I realize how what is done here could be done there with, in my opinion, great results. The mindset is different, the approach is very different, and quite frankly I believe if our approaches and mindsets here made their way there, people like Lucas would be blown away at what they would find. Across this country, there are regional approaches, baits and techniques favored by each region, and something new and hot takes time to find its place in a new region. Bass anglers take a while to make adjustments, it doesnt happen overnight. So what Im saying is if somebody like Butch went and fished in NJ, applying his approach which is straight CA, there is no doubt in my mind he would stick a new state record. The last part of this is how do we know truly big bass swim in NJ waters (truly big being defined by the current state record of 10-14), or at least numbers of 8's and 9's? Now if you want to question my faith on the fact that those fish do exist, fair warning.
