  1. Now this is cool. Thats Gene. Used to fish my baits and did take my first baits to the classic in Birmingham with my freind Ryan who was prefising with a pro. A short while later I called him and told him to call the guys running a tournament online because I knew he had broken the rules he had signed off on in an online tournament. He went back to being Mikes buddy because he couldn't get baits from me anymore after that. Lol. Typical stuff from him.
  2. Here is the thing this website was started long ago in part because nobody could get the truth out there and because another website which is long gone would censor everthing to protect baitmakers from the truth. All anybody has to do here is back up what they say. I made a post and even let the baitmaker do the talking for himself on the subject. It should have ended there really or someone offered an explanation with something to back it up. But it always will go the same way. Always has and allways will. Good thing is the truth got out and I am not worked up myself. Truth is its a plastic bait made in China made from a scaned body. The action and design is improved from my point of view. When you stop the bait it will fall straight and it will burn on the surface with no crazy tuning. It has hooks that are bronze but too big and tangle on the rear constantly but hooks can change. Not my cup of tea because it still runs like a snake. I had a buddy that wanted it and we combined a tackle warehouse order for free shipping. We made a video showing what I said above because one of Mikes buddys questioned it's burn ability and balance. We were actually surprised that the bait was as good as it was and I lost a friendly bet on it. LOL.
  3. Didn't stir it up that was Corey. I just posted Mikes words so he could tell us about knockoffs and how what comes around go's around. You guys are the guys defending Mike when he can't be defended from his own words and actions.
  4. It really has nothing to do with liking him or not. What I posted was about the subject. We educated some people today and maybe they will not be so quick to defend the guy against a knockoff company when he has always been a knockoff guy shown by the evidence I posted. Maybe some of them will find another company to buy baits from if they want to support original baitmakers who haven't supported knockoff swimbait companies. No butt hurt just the truth so people know and can avoid him and others like him.
  5. Eric do us a favor and get us some cast to catch on your not a bull shad. Just some good double digit bass on video. No easy to catch stuff. It would be much more effective than you on here posting about me.
  6. I am done now. It's the same old stuff and nothing new from you ever. We could read about it in the old posts. Use the search feature.
  7. Also that bait was a bait I was trying to help Mike with so I would have baits for guide clients. The bait he got from Leonard was later after I got away from Mike and was making my own that actually caught big fish that I had made for a while before mike ever thought about a four section bait.
  8. I catch one bed fish with a swimbait the size that I caught almost daily and I am a fan boy. LOL.That year my tournament partner and myself caught 40 plus double digit fish and none on a bull shad. Now how many has Mike caught in the past ten years. LOL. Nice try but it's always the same story from you. Nothing to back it up but a few fish like we caught everyday. Now what happened when I sold my first two baits. My first two paying customers who bought a hph caught two eight pounders and a nine the first day they fished the bait. Loaned it to a buddy and he caught a nine pounder which was almost ten out of the same lake that fish in the photo was from the next day. Now how many nine pounders did Mike catch even using a shockboat. LOL. It's not even close in comparison. The bull shad when I used it was just a tool to catch easy fish that would eat most anything. Heck it got outfished by a Storm bait in comparison during the time I used it.
  9. Honestly I am not really thinking about some big company making baits in China with huge resources. Bucca has to because he made thrown together junk with crooked cut joints etc. telling people to bend the joints crooked to tune them like its normal etc. Honestly China has caught up with most companies like that. 3d imaging will put them out of business. The key in this market is to separate yourself from the junk and lower prced baits made in china and defend yourself from the companies making junk resin baits in a garage or small warehouse or using your design and demand to fill your void as a small company. Chatter bait is an easy work around and not a easy patent to defend. Not true in this case. I grew up with a now famous lawyer as a neighbor and friend and a brother who had patents in his 20s. You walk by and dirve by his patents everytime you leave your house still. You talk a lot but you have no idea really. Lawyers can make tons of money off the right type of patents. Problem is some stuff is hard to defend in court. I am not making blade baits. LOL.
  10. No to be honest there will be big innovations which are patented. Make a knockoff get the patented item put on your bait and have to sell against your own inferior bait for less money. May license the patent for a very small fee with guys who actually do something original and created a demand on their baits the right way and don't put out junk. Laugh all you want. Plenty of people will not be laughing. For the record guys are waiting on baits for one simple reason. I had three very serious illnesses in my family and a death and could have had another one or two if they hadn't pulled through. I made a mistake in trying to make batches of hundreds of baits because the demand was high and was caught having to care for family. That's over and baits are going out now every few days. Those orders will be out in around a week and we will only be about a month behind. Catching up fast.
  11. I got into this and never had any idea how bad this industry really was. Problem is simple. Too many people using other people to make themselves look good and too many people kissing their butts and promoting them to also look good. It's that simple. Learn what traits and habits narcissistic people have and avoid them at all cost. They will steal ideas, baits, credit, fishing spots etc. all to make themselves look good. And forget the "he is a nice guy in person" junk. All of them are nice when it forwards their own image and agenda. Catch some nice fish on a swimbait and there is a narcissist baitmaker or fishermen around he will be in the boat with you playing nice guy for your fish, your promotion and spots. And you will be the sucker telling everybody how nice and what a great fishermen he is and defending him against the people that really know them and have seen the real person behind the act. Every contradiction, fish beef, and bait beef has one main cause. it's always the same in this industry. It's never about being jealous or greed. It's about a guy with a fragile ego trying to build himself up on someone elses work. And sometimes two of them building each other up and promoting each other.
  12. One more. The last sentence explins it all. Lol.
  13. And I am not saying what the company did was right either. But it is what it is and people supporting Bull Shad over Castaic need to see what Mike Bucca has always said about knockoffs and him defending them when it was to his benefit.
  14. Problem with everyones argument here is one very simple thing. Mike Bucca was on the prostaff of Reaction Strike. Reaction Strike is owned by the same guy. When the company scanned a Huddleston Body to 1mm tolerance guess who was the very first guy to jump at a chance to be on the Prostaff and defend the owner of the company and the bait. LOL. Mike "Knockoff" Bucca. You see hard baits swim with the vortex created off the joints which Castaic improved. They also improved the bait on the pause where it stays straight and doesn't fold up and sink. Mike Bucca defended the company changing the tail so if you use logic changing the joints on a scanned bait is the same thing it being a hard bait. I have about 20 screeenshots of Mike Bucca defending knockoffs and talking about knockoffs I saved from years ago incase I ever went to court. Throw in the shockboat fish and the history of his company and to say you want to buy something from a non knockoff company who is supposedly more honest. I am just sitting here shaking my head about some of the stuff you guys fall for.
  15. I don't think you are getting his point or read the original question very well. Fishing a top hook talon or one of the baits mentioned in 10 inches of water is I believe what he is saying.
  16. You can throw the osprey top hooks there but they will have to be moving fast. The top hook talons best depths for a slow to medium retrieve is 15 -25 feet of water. If I want it in ten feet of water it's on thick 30lb test and with a faster retrieve. In ten feet of water or less the Dream Smasher tophook is my preference. Best producing soft bait I have fished for most water in GA where I need a shallower running bait with a top hook. I can hit ten feet with it on 15 lb fluro and a slow retrieve but on heavier line and slightly faster retrieve it runs shallower. The Rago tophooks are good too but can't be fished well in the grass and leaves on the bottom where I fish most of the time because of the line tie location where the Dream Smasher and Osprey have a line tie on the nose which helps them come out of grass better.
  17. I just thought it was funny the numbers were so far apart. The reason I still come to this website and have tried my best to support it is the truth usually gets out and it gives the consumer more power. Still get BS from people with agendas etc. but it's the only place I know where you can call a company out and give them a chance to explain etc. without the post being deleted constantly.
  18. I saw one site says what is posted and another says $130,000 in revenue. Big difference when you let google give you the facts. LOL. I have no idea which is true or if either one is. I don't see four employees making 10 million in baits either. But I could be very wrong. other website says 2 employees.
  19. To save some time on this sounds like you wouldn't want one of the older versions of the nine inch Gliding gizzard. Newer version in the right hands can almost cut back at close to 180 then turn back and do it again but the older versions wouldn't and were made to keep a more narrow path. On the shads it's the opposite. The shads I am sending out Friday which is the third group are made to swim with a more narrow path while the very first version was a slow side to side, second group would go wide side to side but took more force and timing.
  20. They will be between aprox 3.5 and 4 oz depending on sink rate.
  21. I just haven't been on here in a couple weeks. Just checked my emails tonight and saw I had a couple messages from last week. Hit a bottle neck in the production because of all the rain a few weeks ago and the last of the six inch baits have been tough to get tuned in right still trying to finish them up this weekend. I have been getting just a few nine inch baits out each week. After next week I should be on all nine inch baits and things will go much faster. The long delayed nine inch baits will finish in about a week to a week and a half. And the latest batch of nine inch baits will go out through November.
