  1. It is a new 10" wake. I usually just refer to it as the OG wake because thats what I had always referred to them as.
  2. Forgot to specify, the 10" is a floater and the Hudd is ROF 8.
  3. Selling these for a friend. Please make an offer. Thank you! OG Armageddon OG Wake 10" FS 12" Huddleston numbered and signed
  4. Hey guys, XS sinking Dark Rainbow FS 10", very lightly used in box. Floating kokanee FS 8", BNIB. Make me an offer and we can discuss.
  5. If you like heavy cover I suggest taking a look at a couple of 3:16 baits. For deeper bites and flipping I would get a couple of mission fish in various sizes, they just flat out work. Secondly, I would look at getting a couple packs of 3:16 minnows. If you rig them on an owner beast hook they are killer when burned over grass lines and the top of heavy cover.
  6. If you want braid use at least 65... probably 80lb test. And 65lb braid is not overkill, I use nothing less than that for fishing frogs and flipping mats. Yes, straight pull that 65 may never break but any abrasion, poor knots and severe shock from a big bait will snap it really quick.
  7. If anything, here is why I would never throw any of my good baits on a spinning rod. Spinning rods have a tendency to shut the bail occasionally on the cast. That might not matter with a drop shot or a senko but make that happen with a 5 oz. bait and that thing is going into orbit. Other than that its just much more efficient to use a casting rod for the big stuff... or 90% of bass fishing for that matter.
  8. I think the slower sink has to do with the fact that they took into account butch's tuning and they made it more similar to that out of the box.
  9. I have an HDS 9 up front and an HDS 7 in the cockpit. Wish I went with two 9's but I'm not complaining. The 7 does have a lot smaller profile than an 8 and 9 as stated before so if you flush mount it they might look a bit underwhelming. You don't realize how awesome the touch screen is until you are graphing over spots and find something interesting. All you do is just touch where it is and you have a waypoint set. Its also extremely intuitive to navigate and change the screen layouts.
  10. Good ones! Its getting right into that prime time of year... can't wait.
  11. Pretty sure you were talking to Eric from Eric's Tackle.
  12. There were factory made floaters.
  13. I started a previous thread a long time ago on this topic and I am going to chime back in here. Personally I always see people complain about not holding the belly and saying that the jaws of bass will be broken by holding them in this way. While i agree if you lever the bass horizontally, yes of course this makes sense and should be avoided at all costs. But if the bass is held vertically by the jaw?? I just dont see the physics of this breaking bass jaws. If this were the case I think we would see an influx of giant bass floating up dead with broken jaws all over the place! I simply do not see it. Frankly, the castaic lagoon would be a dead zone because Butch holds all his fish that way and he's probably caught every trophy in that lake at least once.
  14. Thanks guys. Im more in LA so Hodges is a bit farther for me. I think I'm going to just go to Castaic on a week day coming up and just drive it around for a while. I have heard of some people getting ticketed there but I don't think they will care as much if I'm one of a handful of boats and there aren't many skiers.
  15. You've already got your Ranger Justin Hit me up next time you head out and lets fish.
  16. Just got a new boat and I need to break in the engine. Are there any lakes that have a speed limit faster than 35mph in SoCal? I know Castaic, pyramid, cachuma, piru, perris and Pudd have 35. DVL has some ridiculous 25 mph limit. But anyhow I would like to run my boat faster than 3000 rpm not only because its fun to go fast but also because the recommended break in for mercs is 4500 to 5000rpm with some wide open runs. Any recommendations? Other than Havasu or Delta (which I would love but I just don't have the time right now).
  17. Heck yeah Cody. Nice one man! Is the boat back in action? Sorry to hear about all the trouble.
