This is what happens to people that use spinning rods and finesse worms... Beware.

I just match what I see in the water. I don't like to let the fish get to good a look because no matter how good your bait looks its still a fake! If its sunny out go more translucent/muted colors. Cloudy/darker conditions allow you to get a little more aggressive. The fish will let you know when you got it right...

Been thinking more about carp as a forage species for bass. There are a ton of carp in one of the lakes I fish and they come in all sizes. Wanted to know/see who is catching fish on carp patterned baits?

Thanks guys for the bumps and positive words. Going to put this on hold for a bit, a fellow member is hooking me up with something extremely generous that I have to deal with first. Was going to make a seperate post, but ... BIG thanks to Ali! Also thanks to everyone who has messaged me with positive feedback. The new Xh will be put to use right away! Also wanted to thank Jason/boomah again for his generosity. Looking forward to doing some more video work in the coming months...

My pluton gave out at the end of three weeks swimbaiting. Needless to say not happy. The reel didn't engage after some casts, but the real kicker was when the levelwind just stopped. Called daiwa and they wanted me to send it to a place for repairs. It's a three week old reel. Shouldn't have any problems at all! I demanded a new one, so they said send it to main place in Cali. Not impressed by customer service so far. We will see if they make it right.
