My last three bass over 10 pounds came last January in a one week span. A 10-1, 10-8 and 11-0. I really don't target largemouth anymore. Was itching for this bite again this year, but the rains came early and blew out the spot.
I think Darth is trying to put his fingers in our Kool-Aid and grab a bait. LOL I have this one thing called cash. Its really great you can take it anywhere and get whatever your heart desires. Or I got a kidney. LOL
LOL it is the spotted headed fat girl slayer.(I heard Darth has one he uses on all the white women) Stripers love the ole head grab so give them a target. Actually Mickeys bff Mark Rogers made that bait for me.
Sometimes when nothing is working go bigger. If you don't catch one you will still gain confidence outside your normal bait size comfort zone. Here is a fish I got on a 16 inch plug in an area we worked all day. It swirled on it 5 times before getting a hook in him.
On the west coast the trout plant tells you. A Dept. of Fish and Game plant will have alot of six to 12 inch trout. In this case start small and go bigger. A private plant usually comes from Mt. Lassen or Nebraska Tailwalker trout. Those average 10 inches to 10 pounds. Thats when the big stuff comes out. 14 inch original A.C. Plug gets alot of big bites at this time. I target striped bass, but have had bycatch (largies) swipe at it to.
It had five trout in its stomach from eight inches to 2 1/2 pounds in its stomach. Two were just bones, one had meat on it, and two looked to be two days or under.
