That rod is too noodle-like, IMO. Try a stiffer rod with more backbone.
I honestly think that the 795 is the most over rated swim bait rod available. Just because a rod is cabable of throwing a bait doesnt mean it will deliver when you try to work a bait or god forbid, set the hook. I've lost several fish on my 795 because when I lean on it there isnt anything there. It may be ok for a close strike on a trebel hook bait, but for a jig hook I would definitely look for something more meaty. Take it for what its worth, but I've fished both G1 and G2 795's with the same result.
