  1. Where you at in Carolina?
  2. I feel for you guys sitting on long wait times, but to say that Ben is going to screw anybody out of their money is unfounded bull$hit. He's not some idiot kid in the Black Market flipping rods. Have a question, ask the man himself instead of slandering his character online.
  3. I have three of Ben's rods, and all are excellent tools for throwing swimbaits. Definitely worth the price he charges and the wait.
  4. Good point, Ceaser. There certainly aren't many absolutes in fishing, swimbaiting included. Just because I find that I have a tough time transitioning from one discipline to another doesn't mean others will have the same issues.
  5. Interesting to read how the dynamic of big baiting has changed, with guys throwing traditional gear/ baits along side the swimmers. IMO, its either one or the other. Hard to properly approach fishing swimbaits and senkos at the same time, as fishing the swimmers takes such a different mindset, where the objective is trophy/ big fish and the bait size acts to filter the average fish out. I know some of you delta rats will die before giving up the frog, though. Above all else I enjoy catching fish, so I also fish traditional baits once in a blue moon when the big bait grind puts me in a slump. However, I never combine the two disciplines. Back on topic: I generally bring several swimbait setups when fishing big baits. Each geared towards the baits I intend to use on each particular body of water.
  6. Some great deals right here! Props to the seller.
  7. Good video! Informative and funny.
  8. I'm not sure if the baits you're fishing will allow for it, but maybe try keeping the rod tip low and the line laid down on the water. I used to fish a place with lots of bats, and with exception of maybe one or two occasions I never had any bat-to-line contact.
  9. Not a big fan of the social media integration, as I don't do FB, IG or the like. Otherwise the new site looks cool. I just hope access wont be limited for non-social networkers like myself.
  10. Traded baits with Vikingbear8 a few weeks back and the transaction was great. The bait was as promised, shipping prompt and packaging superb. Would not hesitate to deal with again.

    Hardgill action

Gen II SS Hardgill with the front treble wrapped in solder to increase the front end weight bias was money for me up until I lost my gill....seems like it gets the front of the bait to wander less and keeps the tail action fluid. Also seems to keep the bait from rolling when you snap a direction change. Wish I had more gills. As I said, they are fish catchers.
  22. This was the #1 advice you gave me when I went away to school, and I'm glad that so far I held true to it. I dont make this ish up. I speak the truth. You'll likely only be in college surrounded by coeds once. IMO, you'd be a fool not to take advantage of the resources at your disposal. Once you're out of uni, employed(hopefully) and making a living, there will be plenty of opportunities to fish and buy whatever you want.
  23. I'm in Wilmington, but know fk all about boats. Either way I can lend a hand if needed
