  1. You were closer to the WR crappie (5lbs even) than you were to the WR bass! A pound over half way to the world record crappie (71%) and a pound under half on the bass (44%).
  2. Nice fish dude! Sounds like a fun day. I would pay less attention to your choice of bait than I would to the weather conditions... Sounds like you were there at the right time and in the right place.
  3. You plan on fishing it with the snap on there?
  4. Paint is looking much improved Dave. Keep after it. An hour for paint on one bait is really good.
  5. She might not have committed to the glide because there was something "wrong" with it. Fish that big are pretty stinkin' smart. Speeding up the hard bait is dual purpose. First, it triggers an instinctive reaction. Second, it keeps the fish from being able to properly make an inspection of your bait to determine whether or not it's real. Florida strain largies are notorious for just staring down baits. If I were to come back with a soft bait, I would be moving it very slowly. Probably grinding it on the bottom as slow as I could possibly go. Reason being... We know the fishes mood, right? She might not be willing to chase something down. If she moseyed up to your glide, she doesn't need to eat. If she charged up to it, it would be a different story. But let's stick with slowly swimming up to it and kissing it. Grind that soft bait so she has a chance to inspect it and decide if it's real. If your presentation is what she wanted, she'll eat. If not. Try, try, try, again..... later. lol Good luck!
  6. Cold rain from the North is usually a no-go for me. Warm rain from the south? I'll be on the water. It's just what works for me. Other guys may be more informed than me.
  7. Hey guys and gals. I know everyone is sick of hearing about John Strawbridge but oh well. If you were ripped off by him the Columbus police department would like you to file a report. Their number is 706-653-3205. Johns info is. 735 2nd Ave. Columbus, Ga. 31901 770-262-8284 They need as many reports as they can get. So please pass this along. Thanks Message from Charlie Dains. If you're pissed, do something about it. If not, let it be.
  8. John is now the sole admin on badlands LOLOLOLOLOL So much for the other guys handling it. Also, anyone who was/is being scammed by him were instructed to contact the local police in the city he lives and file a report with them. Someone is taking it seriously at least.
  9. Are you looking to stick with a mass produced bait or a custom handmade type thing?
  10. Bass don't have hands.... If they're curious about it, they gotta put their mouth on it. This was one of two 8's that came on nearly back to back casts. Slow, methodical retrieve. Slightly dingy water. Don't be afraid to throw it. This is as loud as they come. Chartruese and purple.
  11. Try this ^ Honestly, it just looks like your joint is too tight. Loosen it up a bit!
  12. Dan, you figure it out yet? Post up a swim video for us to look at
  13. Do you plan on making them available to the masses?
  14. Dang.... those look so, so, so, so, so terrible.... Mickey wouldn't even waste his time dealing with him.
  15. I've caught more fish on an unfinished bait than I'd care to tell you about. lol Still doesn't stop me from getting fancy with the airbrush.
  16. Don't do that half resin with balloons stuff. Blow out does NOT have anything to do with ballast. Now have fun figuring it out PS. I just saved you 3 weeks of work. Lol!
  17. Yup. The 3m mask is the one I have. You need a niosh level filter for the clearcoats and stuff so make sure the filter that comes with it is not only for dust but also for chemicals.
  18. He's making sure it catches fish
  19. I've also seen some people running pretty small hooks on their hinkle glides as well.
  20. Little background for you guys and the reason for my question. On Thursday morning, it was cloudy/raining here on the delta. Typically prime conditions. I threw a 9" glide bait the entire time we were on the water.... I missed 12 fish. All swiped at the bait but never committed. I watched one of these fish following under the bait and nipping at the hooks. Hooks are 3/0 black nickel. The ensuing thought was, why do I have black hooks when the bottom of my baits are all white? I won't use feathered trebles. I feel they add too much drag. Have many of you experimented with white or silver hooks on your baits? In clearer water, have you seen a difference in the number of fish that have committed? Are my hooks too large? Should I downsize to a size 1 same color to see if it's the size? Thanks for your feedback!
