  1. Hey Blake! I'm always more than happy to help with tuning. In this case, if the hooks are stock and it's a slow float, a simple change to 2/0 st 58's or 3/0's will cause it to sink, most likely. If not, feel free to send me an email or a DM.
  2. I can speak to this, all of my personal rods are CF grips now (Swimbait-frog/jig). Grippiness is really good imho. It's probably a consistent 220 grit texture, wet or dry. The major benefit I feel is not necessarily the weight reduction. The major benefit to me is "Feel". Because the carbon fiber has a solid 7lb foam arbor all the way through, it translates from the blank to you far more easily. Same reason people use an exposed blank reel seat. When I'm fishing glides, I can FEEL a missed swipe without having seen the miss. That allows me to try to erratically trigger the strike greater distances from the boat.
  3. Perfect treble hook rod!
  4. I've just been shoving lead in the bottom of the blanks till it balances on my finger on the reel seat. I leave the butt cap off until EVERYTHING else is done, including thread finish. Then add the weight to the butt and epoxy. Excellent work! Looks clean!
  5. Looks amazing man! Love the carbon fiber handles. The weight on the butt is a must. Funny how the carbon fiber is supposed to weigh less but in order to balance the rod, weight has to be added anyway. lol
  6. Congrats man! Your fish have fangs over there! lol Love the teeth marks.
  7. Sorry guys! Only had a few baits done. Should have more next week!
  8. Dude!!! Three casts to the same place? That's freakin awesome.
  9. https://www.simmsfishing.com/shop/gear/gloves/guide-windbloc-foldover-mitt The price tag on these gloves hurts but man... The absolute best I've found. I love those teeth marks! Nice fish too!
  10. Approach night fishing like you would day fishing. Sometimes, they'll want the wake bait on top making noise. Other times, they want a subsurface straight retrieve, and even still, sometimes they want a different kind of glide. Had a great night this summer throwing glides for stripers. They only wanted one glide. I switched to a couple different styles of glide and no takers, threw spooks for 'em but NOPE! They wanted that one style of glide. 30+ fish in an hour? Approach it the same way you fish during the day. If they're not eating one thing, try a different one.
  11. @StriperAddict Stripers won't count
  12. Merry Christmas ya filthy animals!
  13. Limited baits were more expensive. Regular colors will return to lower prices

  15. Congrats Stephen! Hope you get some solid use out of the prize pack!
  16. That’s awesome man! Looks like a fun fight!
  17. I have done it! I heated up some weedless swimbait hooks so I could open them just enough to slide a blade into. Give it a shot. Remove the centering pin first though.
  18. Wake baits tend to work very well in the rain.
