The Doc

Pulled one yesterday on the Mattlures U2 Gill. I was casting it out, letting it sink to the bottom and stroking it back. She went around 8 lbs, but I didn't have my damn camera or cellphone with me to shoot a pic. So, the addiction is on full swing. Gonna go out with my little man this morning (he's 3 years old.) and toss the triple trout and the mattlures again. We'll see what happens. This time I'm bringin the camera!

Thanks for that. I have 6 years active duty army, 82nd Airborne for most of it. I have more time in the army than I do throwin swimbaits But, just like anything else, putting your time in will reward you. I don't plan on buying a ton of baits, but I do have 2 that I'm looking for, the Freestyle shad and a Hyper herring. As for bedding fish, I will fish for em, but they always go back to the same spot that I got em from. I fish tournaments, but we usually plan our tx's to take advantage of pre and post spawn time, and try to avoid fishing directly during the spawn. I'm not saying there is anything wrong with bed fishing, as long as you aren't hurting the population and you are being ethical and practicing conservation. I hate to see the idiots who are crappie fishing or junk fishing that end up hooking a large female and they keep her to eat. Pisses me off more than jet ski'ers or pleasure boats...
