    Freestyle Trout - 8" - Carp - Floater
Hyper Herring - Blueback - Crankdown
Hyper Herring - Blueback - Wake

Most of them brand new. A couple of them barely fished. Carp has a couple of hook points and that's it for cosmetics.

If you want better pictures, let me know. Not really looking for any trades.

Message me if you're interested with an offer.

    Thanks.

  2. I live in Central Texas and if you want to talk about lake pressure, you should see what's happened to Lady Bird Lake. This time last year you could catch 30+ fish in a day. They'd bite anything you put in front of them. Social media has destroyed it. Now it's hard to even find a spot to fish where you aren't stealing someone's cove or point. it's a no gas lake so all the big bass boats are using trolling motors. If you've seen Oliver ngy, he fishes here a lot. I don't blame him, but he has brought tons of popularity to the lake. I booked a trip with him throwing deps and it was awesome. Tons and tons of pressure there now and it seems like the dirtier water is better now. some of the creeks are gin clear and there are tons of DD in them, but impossible to catch.

Social media destroyed it, how?  Like on a public forum, calling the lake by name, posting pictures and talking about your "awesome" trip throwing 250s with Oliver?

  3. Just my 2 cents....Id throw the 3:16 over the Hinkle anyday. In my opinion the movement and action of the 3:16 is way better..it actually glides without having to do anything to the rod or reel. Also when you give the lure a good pop it turns a full 180° without the line getting hung up on the hook. By far the best Glides on the market.

You fished Andrews bait at all?  Cause, it doesn't sound like it.  You can do anything you want with that bait.  It won't blow out, or do something stupid.  Only other glide i've seen that idiot-proof is the 250.

  4. I do think they completely missed on the price point of these new reels, but other than that, not much to complain about.

13 Oz ain't it a bit heavy considering you'll be chucking 8 to 10 Oz baits also

Next time you go to the bathroom, check to make sure you still have a pair.  If they're still there, see a doctor and get your testosterone levels checked, to make sure they're still working.  If both of these check out, go get a gym membership, or take up knitting.

  5. There aren't any. Academy or Dicks... There's a Gander Mountain that is pretty lousy compared to others. BPS opens sometime this summer in Round Rock if you're into paying 35% more just for fun, or Cabelas is a half hour south of town, where you can also go pay extra while being surprised at just how few things they carry you want to buy.

  6. Thanks for the PDF!  I have saved it for for future reference.  What exactly am I looking at here?

Yes, I weighed them with the feathers.  The variance was 0.2grams.  I was also weight my other hooks+rings without feathers for reference.

This is the first time I am replacing them, and I have not ordered from Deps.  The pricing and availability is the reason why I am choosing not to replace them through Deps.

    :)

    Thanks!

EDIT:  I just figured out what the chart represents.  This is HUGE and very helpful!  What scale are you using?

A $200 lab scale.  I wouldn't worry about the accuracy of it.  Didn't weigh hooks individually, but weighed 5, 6, 7, whatever comes in a package of each, and divided to get individual weights.  So that's why they aren't all carried to .01 or .001g.

But seriously, hundredths of a gram, not going to matter anyway.  It's just something I've done over the years, and is kind of useful when you want to fine tune a baits sink rate.

  7. It is really similar to the shimano curado 200is. The jig thing would make sense as I have used it for that technique and it has done a great job. Im sorry I searched but I guess not good enough.

Jigging, salt water.  Not fishing a jig for bass.

It's a curado 200i, with no brakes, a shallower spool, and longer handle.  It's not a larger frame, like a Curado 300.  It says 300 yes, but when describing jigging reels, 300 is not what you think it is.

You own this?  You fish with it?

  8. I've caught fish on mine but the tails always get bent pretty quickl. If yall are keeping them as long as you claim then you must be doing something different. How are you storring them?

Keep them in the box they come in.  Lay it out on its back to dry out when you get home, and put it back in the package for storage.  Just the easiest way for me.  Hell I just stab the hook in one of the foam blocks in each package too so it's always there.  Grab a couple baits you want, and go.

  9. I don't know your lake, and without a map I can't really answer that honestly.  But if you think you're a pretty decent jig fisherman, and I don't mean pitching a jig at the bank, you should have a pretty good idea where to start with a hudd already.

You don't necessarily want the bait off the bottom.  That was just my answer as to how you could avoid getting crap on the bait.  Personally, I put that bait on the bottom most of the time.

If you're fishing out that deep, I'm going to take a guess that you're not picking up grass and crap until you get further uphill during your retrieve.  You don't have to fish the bait uphill either.  If you're on the bank, you don't have much of an option, but go fish breaks in 20-30ft.

This is the first bait I ever fished, and the only bait I fished for at least the first year of throwing swimbaits.  I knew where and when I wanted to throw a big football jig, and that's where I started with a hudd.  You have to simplify this ish somewhat at the beginning I think, and expand from there once you start to get some feedback from the fish.  Look at stuff you're good at fishing, have a lot of confidence in, and try to relate a hudd to those baits.

  10. Thank you so much for the replies. I lot of what I have read said fish as slow as you can then go slower so I was taking that to heart. I was dragging the bottom and pulling up dead leaves and such. I wanted to try to swim it more but like I said didnt want to start fishing it too fast.

It's not the bait I reach for when I want to fish faster, but don't rule that out either.

How deep are you trying to fish?  If you have the patience to fish a 5 down 15-20ft, it's a little easier to deal with crap on the bottom because of how the bait sits.  The 12 buries the nose while the 5 stays level.  You'll still pick up crap, but it can definitely help minimize it.  And there are places I fish a hudd I just have to accept that I'm either getting bit or I'm cleaning off the bait most casts.
