Sweet! I am shooting a helim with carbon express and G5 strikers. Those broadheads you shoot are pretty much like the montecs. I started out with those but the deer here are in my avocado orchards. The leaves are red and they flip over leaving no blood trail. Sucks tracking them here. Been a gnarly learning curve with the bow. Especially learning to aim low because they jump the string. Hard habit to break. You get so used to the rifle where you just put it on them and hammer them. But even hammered with a rifle its crazy how far they can go. Blacktail are hard as hell to hunt. They dont pattern well and get super nocturnal. Especially once the velvet comes off. My buddy Rod Thigpin (Stocker Trout and the best trophy swimbait fisherman in california) has gotten the archery bug also. He is one hell of a hunter. Actually he loves hunting more than fishing. We are gonna go to utah this year and hunt big mulies. So bad ass! Any experience with expandables? Need a bigger blood trail here.

That's bad ass dude. You guys are so lucky back there to have Big Bucks. We have small Blacktails out here in Socal. You dont see many that get past being a Forked Horn. I have seen one 3x2 and two 3x3 the last 2 years. We Bow hunt em but most of our shots are in the 40-50 yrd range. Nice job. People don't realize the parallels between hunting and fishing. If you want a shoot a big buck you don't shoot the first one you see. Same with trophy bass fishing. You have to eliminate the small bite and be patient for the right one to come along. Awesome. What's your set up?
