That would be cool. I've played with some stuff on Hudds but never seem to get it right, or at least I don't think so. Would be great to see what and how other guys are doing it.

Can't go wrong with the old school Abu round reels. That being said they seem clunky but they will last forever. I own six different Cardiffs from the 100's up to 400's that I use for everything from trout to sturgeon. They have worked well for me. They do seem to have inconsistent problems from time to time for some folks like the pinon gear giving out or the drags getting loose. But for me in that price range they have been good reels.

When you said you got the small box... where you talking a small swimbait box of the small crank box? I didn't see a small swimbait model.

Not a problem Don, like they say, ish happens. lol Wonder if we could figure out how to replace the cable ourselves if they push you out too far for an appointment. I've never done the cables on a Motorguide but did a lot on Minn Kottas in the old days. Looks like clouds and wind for the weekend, I might just have to take the little boat up to Pedro.

Had very little of that stuff already. Didn't need a magnum rifle for Calif deer, didn't need cold weather gear, didn't need a 4WD truck. Just like swimbait fishing, you probably already had tackle, just not the right tackle.

Can't look at it that way. Same thing with elk hunting; need to have a rifle ($1,000), tags ($500), 4 WD truck ($30,000), wall tent ($500), gas to drive to Colorado and back ($500), lots of heavy clothes ($600), heavy ass sleeping bag ($200), misc other crap ($?). Its the enjoyment and the memories you get out of it. Some people go to the casino and drops thousands or are into cars or God forbid they play golf Its all about what trips your trigger and keeps you going day in and day out waiting for the weekend.

Yeah I know its just tough when you crave a bait and you loose a couple too.

I find the flippers irritating from the stand point of there are a bunch of guys trying to get baits and would fish them but can't because a bunch of other guys snatch them up just to turn a profit on them. If all the baits get snatched up by guys who will actually fish them, well that's the way it is and better luck to me next time. With that said, its not against the rules/law so I guess I can't really complain, but it does rankle me.

No cabin fever here in Cali but got a tax return so have done the following so far. Paid off my boat Bought a Doybns 806 ML at half off Picked up a Cardiff Some more Hudds Got a killer deal on a Calcutta 700 for sturgeon Had to buy a rod to put the 700 on. Put gas in my truck this morning
