Was thinking about getting one. I've stuck them pretty good on the 178ss anyone have experience with the 230?

I liked the look and action of his killa gill, but am damn glad I never pulled the trigger!

The craze you speak of is universal. It isn't JDM vs. USDM. Globalization has allowed us to basically get our hands on the best Japan has to offer. As passionate anglers, we gravitate to bait builders that are equally as passionate about the products they put out, whether Japanese or American. Last time I checked Ken's website, 68 specials and 8" weedless are all sold out, and we all know about 3:16's hard baits. After a long week at work, when I finally get on the water, I'm thinking about putting fish in the boat, and getting my fix, regardless of whether the bait tied to the end of my line was made overseas or not.

Unreal, you've been smoking them this year.

If it makes you guys feel better, my outboard clipped a submerged log this weekend on the delta while on plane, full lower unit replacement.... Ouch!

Crazy, it's been nearly a month and some people haven't received baits. I didn't get a 8" weedless trout, but have ordered numerous 68 specials and usually received them within 4-5 days.

Damn, there goes another $80.

Break away split rings that urbanhick mentioned seems the most logical option if you're worried about expensive baits. Then again, I'm sure someone may eventually complain about losing big fish as opposed to expensive baits.

That is too sick.

Big Worm, I wasn't able to make it up because of a Berryessa tournament, but the fishing probably didn't suck. Winning weights have been between 34 to 39 lbs with 28 not cashing checks. I'm up there this weekend to toss huddlestons, a rigs and the 250SS!

Missed 2 whole releases? Some go years. There is no secret society of OG peeps swooping baits. Relax, stay awhile, make friends and with a little, who am I kidding a LOT of luck, you may score. Good luck!

S-Waver, Gan Craft Jointed Claw, Deps Slide Swimmer are all good. The japanese brands are generally more expensive. River 2 Sea's S-Waver won't break the bank if you wanna see what the hype is about. Just picked up the Deps 250 SS and can't wait to see what it can do. I agree with a previous poster, a slight pause between reeling, and you can feel when the bait changes direction. Generally the bigger the glider, the wider the glide.

First swimbait was an 6" Castaic trout softbait. I just got into bass fishing at the time and remember throwing it on a two piece mh 6'8" on 10lb test. I remember on one cast, half of the rod flew off along with the bait. Total amateur hour, I did stick a 4.5lb on my first outing with it though.

I've read, and I'm sure most others out there know. Big bass are lethargic in the winter, so the opportunity to eat that one big meal is something they cannot pass up. I think on Ken Huddlestons website he said something like, maximum calories consumed for minimum calories expended. This with the fact that they need to bulk up for the rigors of the spawn make big slow moving swimbaits a no brainer for big bass in the winter.

March 9th and 10th could work for me as well.

Dang, I didn't know there were so many differences between the BB Deps and the standard 250 Slide Swimmer. Hmmm, thought it was just the color, either way, hope to stick some good ones on my Ayu on the way.

I love my crucial. I especially like it for 6" Hudds, Smaller Freestyles and lately I've been throwing the gancraft jointed claw. Great lightweight stick with a good tip and plenty of backbone.

By far that first one has to be the most realistic bass I have seen.

Those yellow bass went fast! Ceaser, those linesides moving deeper into the south delta yet? I always like hammering them when they pack into Disco, been too dizzy cutting down ducks. D.
