  1. It's a pretty simple concept guys, if someone is selling a bait at flipper prices, don't buy it. If you are selling a bait for a good price because you're not a flipper, don't sell to a flipper. Each and everyone of us has the right to choose who we sell to. Never seen so many people that talk about patience and grinding that can't wait a month or however long for something new to use when you still haven't completely figured out the gear you own. We all know deep down there are no magic baits, there never will be but there are plenty of readily available baits that catch big fish. No doubt some work better than others, but a guy that can't catch fish on a finesse worm regularly isn't gonna be able to catch em on a deps 250 magically. Stop treating these baits as baseball cards and start treating them as what they are: fishing lures made to catch fish. We all fall into the trap of wanting to buy as many new baits based on hype to try and catch bigger fish when we start throwing these baits. I don't understand it either, but it's definitely real and will always be there. Ignore that urge and focus on fishing what you have and slowly add to that once you have a good grasp on what you have and see the need to add a new tool. I can promise you this, if you own baits that are being proven to catch fish in the got em section and still can't catch big fish, that new bait you're thinking about dropping $400 on isn't gonna help much and when you try to sell it for $450, you just became what you were b|tching about before. I definitely can't word it like him, so just read this instead: http://www.workingclasszero.net/#/quest-for-the-cure/ Hopefully working class zero links are allowed, if not, go to the site and read quest for the cure.
  2. Got this one on Friday then skunked yesterday. It went 7-11 so not big enough. Nice fish Jace!
  3. I posted a WTB and he sold me the bait I was looking for. Excellent communication and provided tracking number as well. Thanks again!
  4. I tie direct and it works fine. I recommend the 10" but only if you're willing to put the time into it. The 7" and 8" are very similar in size, not a lot of difference at all in the size of fish that bite them from my experience either. The 10" will definitely draw the bigger fish, but if you don't have 10" forage that the fish are feeding on, it may be a waste. If you have trout, you definitely have 10" forage they are eating. I got bit really fast on the 7" and 8" but it took me a lot longer to put enough time into the 10" to get bit, but once I did, I got rid of almost all the other sizes. Good luck!
  5. Very good possibility, I need to watch that vid now.

    2nd Strike

After missing a ton of fish the last trip, got out yesterday and finally got a fish to do more than just smack at the bait and swim off. This one did smack it, but it also came back and swallowed it. She went 7lbs 6oz on my scales. Ended up being a tough bite though and I only got a few other bites. Do you guys end up getting a lot of 2nd strikes after missing the fish on the initial bite? It seems to happen more and more to me and not just small fish. This is my 5th fish over 7 in the past year or so that has bit close to where the bait has hit the water, missed it and then came back to absolutely try and destroy it. Not just hard or soft baits or a specific bait either, but a bunch of different baits in a variety of different conditions and times of the year. It's always instinct for me to reel faster right after a swing and miss, so I think that speeding the bait up must trigger them to chase it back down and eat. I have to get myself out of the habit of pitching a b|tch fit after missing a good one and save that until the bait is back in my hands lol
  7. No clue but if it is, I want one lol
  8. Looking for 10" and 11" Rago Alpha Trouts, let me know what you have.
  9. Thanks guys! Here's a better pic of the spot.

    Huddin PB

Finally got over the flu and got out on the water Tuesday. Didn't get to go to where I really wanted to, but got to fish and picked up a pb as well. Water was about 47-50 degrees and mostly sunny with wind picking up throughout the day to about 8-10 mph. I missed about 4 or 5 fish before I caught my first one. For whatever reason, they just wouldn't lock onto the bait. From what I could tell, they would rush to the bait and bite more at the back than the front and when I set the hook, all I ended up getting was teeth rash on the back of the hudd. Finally got a better look at one eating it and I waited just a tad longer for the fish to position the bait in his mouth and caught a largemouth that weighed 5-8 just in front of some structure. Before you get too excited over the PB, it was a spot, first one I've caught over 6lbs. Scales first read 6-14 which had me all excited, but then the next 4 times I weighed her, 6-1 every time. There was no waiting for her to position the bait, she hit it hard and was hooked up before I knew what was going on. Not too bad considering I fished a 2nd choice lake, can't wait to get back out on the water.
  11. At home with the flu and got bored, so I made a video from the past year or so with some catches on a deps and one on a TT. Can't wait to get over this ish and get back out on the water.
  12. I like the blue trout as well and also the purple trout which is a good mix between a shad and a trout. I would suggest not buying two different colors in the same size but instead getting 2 different sizes, preferably a 7" or 8" and a 10". There's not a big size difference in the 7" and 8" but a huge difference between the 8" and 10". I got bit really fast on the 7" and 8" but it took me a lot longer to figure the 10" out. I had to put everything else aside and dedicate an entire day to the 10" before I really figured it out and got bit on it, but it was definitely worth the effort. As far as my go to color though, it's a 10" big eye clear water trout repaint that I traded a magnum for. For whatever reason, it just gets bit, even with the paint starting to chip off of it.
  13. I think I remember seeing those wraps on here too, could be wrong though because I can't seem to find that thread........

  15. I use a Calcutta 401TE for both with no issues, it's 5.0:1.

  17. Seems to make a decent bait, but he screwed over a lot of people. http://swimbaitunderground.com/forums/index.php?/topic/7720-killer-instinct-lures/?hl
