  1. Geoff, that fish needs to get back to our home lake
  2. Mario Wrote: "That's awesome Richard!! Can't wait to see the fish and what bait it was. Not that it has much to do with my North East fishing, just love to see people succeed that put in the work. Subject: Won Big Bass of SemiPro Last Night" JCBass Wrote: Thank you guys I'd love to have a pic too Yet, as John noted; when you're fishing solo against great stikks in semipro two-man teams. Time, is your most valuable commodity As well, my post here was truly to appreciate Ben and Mickey. As a tourney guy, I can't really afford to take pics because of time factors and because of fellow competitors... Thus I don't post pics. But, I do love it when some of you guys do! Cool -R
  3. Big Uns are green & gold...and so is the win from tourney's Mickey mentioned that I should post some pics. I usually don't National Bass DVL night June 30th,2012. Big Bass 8.30 122 anglers, 62 teams---I fished solo. Used my Low Down XH Custom for very first time. I noticed the balance of lightness to work the bait, and power to move that fish. $399 Rod = $1,200 Win What a great return on investment! Thank you Ben! (and while location is key, thank you Ben for bait-presentation knowledge!) Thank you Mickey too But can't say bait cuz I'm fishing tourney Sat. All glory be to God---the author of everything 3:16!! -Richard
  4. Don, I think some of my swimbait eat'n rocks must have rolled to your lake Nice vid man! -R

    BRAID

If you can tye a great no-fail fusion knot. I'd go topshot mono for Floaters. And topshot copolymer for SS, and flouro for sinking bottom baits. Even in flip bites in heavy cover, topshotting braid has proven to get bit better than straight braid. Especially in clear water and/or finicky bass. In our gin clear CA lakes, we've seen black and white better bite-results on top waters with topshot vs straight braid. As well, I like topshoting in high abrasion cover, as braid is like cloth. Have you ever rubbed cloth over a razor sharp edge? Cut.... And, when the fish jumps at the boat, I have way more shock-absorbtion with topshot than with straight braid. BTW, even flouro has alot of relative stretch. Also, some braids sink faster than others (Yes--I've tested thoroughly ), so one may want to think about that---I do. Yet, none of these benefits matter, if one doesn't tie a no-fail fusion knot. So if one isn't good with knots---go straight.... -R
  6. True dat--and Grant is a great guy too! Appreciate you getting back to me so quickly man Best of luck selling all the baits! -R
  7. I didn't read he had an MH rod. Thanks Gary! I'd check out the new Daiwa Lexas then. Nice looking... Gonna be interesting to feel how they compare to 300 DSV. But can not wait to get my 4 new 400 D's! Love that slimmer palm plate! And modern silver look. The big ole girls will love to see em -Richard
  8. ...gotta love them Slammers! If it makes you feel any better Chris; I've had friends lose way more than just one 3:16 in one night. OUCH!
  9. Oh man Chris, that was a brutal night for you man. We can all relate. -R
  10. Very true! When I got stationed in San Diego, from Illinois, I pretty much had to re-learn how to fish. Just be patient and keep a positive additude. One of the things that helped me the most was just going to a lake and walking the shore, chatting with locals. +1 on both

  16. +1 Been waiting on these for over a year. Have 3 400's on order, to replace the 3 gold 400 TE's now. Already had Ben make 3 customs to match the silver! Also, my friend who's tackle mangr. says that new 400's easier to palm. Cool Thank you Top Ramen for that TT link too Those guys aren't always right-on, but at least another real perspective. The only other reel that Id take over these, is their JDM version. But Geoff said, if super-tune the D's----they are tops too! Can't wait til July! R
  17. Can I get two of those in color Killa Bulla?!!
  18. Hell yes!!! What do you think we're doing here??? I'm looking for bass footage on the video's! But.............................................. If it was a really cool video, I think I would be inclined to do something cool too! ....know what I mean?!
  19. It's a fun lake, they're Northern Strain so you're not going to get anything huge (by CA standards) but when they go off it is pretty wide open. Last year we got into a few spots where we were getting bites on every cast. Man, is that Chris Van Damn?! Cool vid I wonder if there are big uns though; on main lake structure there... -R
  20. Great job for switch'n to the crankdown Boom! -R
