  1. I posted my last TX trout trip on here back in 2019. That was basically the beginning of my speckled trout swimbaits. Since then, I’ve been at it pretty steady, sending finesse size mullets, ladyfish, baby speckled trout, pogeys and a few others to trout anglers from the East Coast to the Gulfcoast.

Finally made it back to the Texas coast with my little swimbaits along with Eric Gomez from Leviathan Rods, Dustin Nichols and Glen Martin.

A brutal front the day before we arrived had beat the Laguna Madre with 40mph winds. The first day had us fighting dirty water. But the shallow, grassy waters down there clear up in the blink of an eye and the following day had us in beautiful conditions for saltwater swimbaits! Everyone caught on Pink Pogey glides and a couple of giants were lost in the process. We still landed some bigs. What a fun place!!

  2. Been working on this Sunfish for about a year. It’s a small offering, coming in at 1.5 oz. I’ve made 3 versions: glide, topwater and a cranker. This spring, I finally got around to using the cranker version. It’s been producing well for me after a few mods and tweaks.

I plan to release these on my Facebook page soon. “Donkey Bay Swimbaits”

That looks great!  As Jordan said, the color is spot on!  I also like that you made it slightly shorter belly to back than the original, should make it a little easier for the fish to wedge in their mouth!

True. And the younger fish are slimmer. This one is about 6.75-Inches.
