  5. if they are shipping ups and not usps, it is actually a decent price. I just sent 2 baits from ct to fl in a bubble envelope and it was 18$. Having said that, they need to package their baits better, no excuse for baits arriving damaged.

  9. get at least a 14' and I would recommend a v bottom then install a casting deck, they are far more stable in chop. If you go jon boat, wider is usually better for stability. I sank 2 jon boats in my life time, expensive mistakes and we were not above the weight limit either time. A 12' john boat is fine for small lakes/ponds where you don't have to worry about other peoples wakes because of horse power restrictions. Get the biggest boat you can afford, don't restrict yourself to a 12', you might find a 14-17' for the same price, bigger is almost always better in boating.
  10. yup, i know this sounds stupid but it is was the only reason I didn't buy one. I hate when companies gouge you on shipping, not to mention, they have a rep for not packaging their baits well so they arrive damaged.
  11. 11.95 shipping, must be really heavy
  12. You can find lexa 300 on ebay, nib for around 135-145 shipped to your door. Don't buy it at the more popular tackles shops like tw because you will pay close to 200$, there are plenty of them out there in the price range i mentioned above. I own a lot of reels, probably close to 20 bait casters and I love my lexa's, love the price even more.
  13. looks better than some rats I have seen on the market and a fraction of the price.
  14. ldc 8"mh and two high power gliding gizzard. I lost my first glide gizzard to what would have been my biggest pike of my life, it looked to be close to or > then 50" and over 20lbs. As soon as i get it the new ones, I am going back for the bastard They are amazing baits.
  15. I understand the need for saltwater, but you said you feel the need for 900' of line for fresh water as well? I was trying to understand why, the "why on earth would you need 900' of line for freshwater" comment was to express shock. Back to your question, imo 120 yards (360') of 20# mono/floro/copoly or braid, is more then enough for fresh water bass. Like i said, most people won't exceed 150'(50 yards) on a cast with the wind at their back, using a 8' or < pole, which leaves you with a suplus of 70 yards (210') of line. A good way to see how far you cast is to bring your setup to a local football feild and chuck it. I did this and found I was over estimating how far I was casting, big time. If you are using braid then you will be able to put even more line on a low pro reel. The lexa 300 is solid and has a deep spool, it will handle just about any freshwater swimbait you can think of and you will have plenty of extra line backing at the end of even your longest cast.
  16. wasn't trying to offend you and I just asked the question why you need 900' of line, I wasn't trying to hurt your feelings. This is a great place to learn but it isn't a snuggle fest by any means. The first rule of internet forums is never let someone hurt your feelings in reel life, if you don't like someones tone, ignore them. Nice fish btw.
  17. Why on earth would you need 900' of line for fresh water? I have 2 lexa 300s, a 200z, pluton, a calcutta 300 and a 400 for swimbaiting. I use 20 - 25# big game most of the time and line capacity is never an issue. On my best day with the wind at my back I am only casting around 100 - 150' (33-50yards) which leaves me with plenty of backing on all of the above mentioned reels. The pluton holds the least amount of line but I have only casted to the spool after removing a lot of line because of abrasion/nicks.
