  1. I keep mine on the tender/charger 24/7/365, and I got a solid 6 years of life on my last round of Costco batteries. My trolling motor batteries were actually still working fairly well, but I lost my cranking battery, so I just replaced all 3 together again. When I did my research this time around, the only other battery I felt was worth considering in the same price range was the Excide line. I'm still considering switching my cranking battery to the Excide b/c it has higher CCA than the Costco. -Dax
  2. Nice one Salty! Big 'ol fat head and lip on that fish
  3. +1 on the XH advice. I had been throwing everything on an H, which was still adequate even for a 250 and will absolutely launch an 8" Hudd. However, I recently picked up an XH and quickly realized the extent to which the H was getting mushed out by the 250 and making me work harder than necessary. The XH is money.
  4. What's crazy to me is what some douchebags will do for just a few hundred bucks. What's even more crazy is the nerve they have to keep doing it over and over and keep posting on the site like its all good. I guess my second sentence sort of explains the first ... all said and done, it ends up being more than just a few hundred bucks. Thieves suck.
  5. Thanks for that video, Don! Been meaning to ask the board this question. How can I go about replacing the hinges completely? I bent the hinges on my 250 and ultimately just twisted the two joints back into alignment, but I know I must have changed the bait's action at least somewhat in the process. It's not like I was able to make them straighten back up perfectly. In an ideal world, I'd like to install new hinges. Is it possible to buy replacements? Thanks in advance to anyone here who's been through this already and can help me out. -Dax
  6. On a slow night, those stupid bats are the only thing that gets my heart rate going.
  7. I have 3 I've been wanting to get rid of. Black, bass, and trout colors Will give you a deal on them. All 3 virtually brand new PM me if you want them. Dax
  8. If anyone out there is sitting on a Wake Jr. in Black w/Blue and willing to part with it, please PM me. I'd be willing to pay old school Wake Jr. prices for one in excellent condition. Never see this color for sale. Thanks SBU! -Dax
  9. If anyone else buys one, make sure you click the TW banner at the top of the page here, or add this to your URL: ?from=swimug Make sure the SBU crew gets some cash in the bank!
  10. Yeah man I figured you must have a connection there. In all seriousness, as a bait maker, I think you've got a solid retail market for anything up to 12 now that the 250 has proven itself in such a public way. From a psyche standpoint, you might do well to keep the weight under a pound when possible.
  11. had the opportunity to hang out for a while at Clearlake Bait and Tackle with Jimmy (who's a very cool guy to talk fishing with), and he showed me some pictures of a glide that made the 250 look dinky. Obviously, Matty, I was thinking about that while reading your post from yesterday and checking out your glides (which look great, btw). So it seems like the glide bait thing has us trending in a bigger and bigger direction here. With the right gear to throw it, I'd lay 16 inches of wood out there!
  12. Wow. That's one hell of a night fishing right there. Very cool.
  13. Nice, Scoop .... thanks for the reply and the extra effort bro. Good to know it's held up well for him. I have a strict policy of never taking apart a reel on my own ... it can only go bad for me at that point.
  14. All things equal, I'm a Daiwa guy when it comes to reels, but I've been searching through all my options in the 300 class and came across this Quantum EXO, which comes in significantly lighter weight than the Lexa or Curado. That aspect has me interested, but no shot of me pulling the trigger on an unknown without running it by this community for some feedback first. Upon search, I found no entries for this reel in the Reviews forum. If anyone has some insight good or bad, I'd love to hear it. Thanks as always, SBU. -Dax
  15. Any of these will work for me. Just trying to pick one up on the cheaper side to save some bucks vs retail. Let me know if you've got an extra lying around that you'd like to sell. Not overly concerned about cosmetic ... just need good working order and would need fast shipping. Thanks SBU! -Dax
  16. Grady -- I commend your dedication to the game. Maybe we can get you to start posting scouting reports on all the up and coming bait makers!
  17. Exact same thing happened to mine. Wife got me one for my bday back when they first came out. That reel seat is glued on or something and the glue seemed to break down in the heat. They replaced it no problem of course, but still it pissed me off to have to deal with it, considering the price tag. I've often looked at that NRX and wished it was broken up into two IMX's for the same price. I think they pushed the envelope too far with that line, which is why they rolled out the exchange programs.
  18. Are you guys catching fish on them? Seems like their glide is so much weaker than the 250s but are they still getting bit pretty well?
