I have an LDC Production Heavy 3-7oz, and I have a bait that's just barely under 7oz. (And I'm a little scared to throw it) Is it to much for that rod or are they a little conservative on their ratings? Or perhaps a little generous? Anybody got some insight on this?

Hiro 8.5 Kokanee LDC XXH Conquest 400 25# Abrazx While casting towards shore chasing largies I heard what sound like a toilet bowl flushing about 50yards behind me towards deeper water. Wasn’t a Bird wasn’t a dink. Hit the trolling motor got within casting distance and sent a long cast past the “toiletâ€. Twitch twitch twitch all the way back to the boat. 100% did not plan on making a second cast into open water, God I’m glad I did! Second twitch pause and BOOM! Released to fight another day! She went 35 inches and 16.4 pounds. Couldn’t be happier to stick a land locked stripe like this for the first fish on the newest combo.

Not sure if this is the right thread for this, but I've been saving up a bit of money for a swimbait rod up to $300. I have never used a true dedicated swimbait rod or owned one. So I would like some first person experience help here. I've found 2 rods I really prefer. The Dobyns Champion 796sb and LDC MH/H 7'9". The reason for this is I prefer shorter rods, full foam handles and I dont like cork or split grip for chucking heavy lures. I know the LDC comes with the spiral wrap. If you can give insight on pros/cons about that also, it would be helpful. If you guys/gals can give some insight on either rod it would be appreciated.

LDC Heavy Production rod up for sale. (Spiraled right) 9.9/10 everywhere BUT THE EVA FOAM. I used it as bait keeper for the little time I used it.
