  1. Gipsy Kings have a lot of good music like that. yep, was right off that shade on that weedy clump. Thanks again for the tips! Learning more and more every day. Hopefully can get up to Pueblo again one day and we can go pond hop. Headed to Seattle in the morning for a week and no fishing
  2. yep. but they are everywhere and if you dont go where they are you wont go anywhere. that's why you see me take my time and keep looking at the area around my feet. learned from an early age to watch where you will be stepping rather than where you did.
  3. yep. started sliding but I hadnt seen it yet so I was booking to get down there.
  4. I know I can't be the only one who climbs up and down steep hillsides to cast a swimbait into waters that don't get touched often. Went out yesterday and found a back creek that looked pretty good. Caught it all on video. Also gave me more confidence to keep throwing. I want to say thanks again to Marbles. I know it wasn't night time but I watched for where the sun was, spotted my spot, bounded over, stayed back from the water, made a long cast and blam! got bit. It's a tiny fish but nice to break a recent slump. Had a good conversation this morning with a guy in a boat (while I was wading throwing a slammer) who said he saw an article about big baits in Bass Times. I showed him some of my stuff and he seemed pretty interested. It also helps when you catch fish and they don't. GoPro wasnt charged this morning so I didnt get any video (more small ones anyway). Enjoy!
  5. good thoughts Ali thanks! I am going to make sure to have a back up plan from now on for the whole deal. I do have some 3-6 oz pyramids for salt that I could use.
  6. it was my first to cast off. line snapped. 30lb big game, palomar knot. I think it must have had a nick in it from the fish the previous cast. lots of rocks around where I was at. I have yanked all kinds of stuff on that line with no issues. must have been cut. shame on me for not checking. got another coming in the mail. somebody shot me a very generous purchase offer that I couldnt say no to. I'll just make sure I have the kayak with me next time so I can go get that thing.
  7. during the day I'm solid. When it's dark I'm Stevie Wonder
  8. went this morning and no love on the banks for a washed up wake. Luke, thanks for the offer bud. I think I'm going to give a little distance to the jrs for a bit. Need to retrain some mojo. I'll throw my slammers till the repair is finished. Good looking out bro. There is another lake nearby that I may go hit up tomorrow. Try something different. No more talk about lost baits. Off to find some fish
  9. pretty sure it's been dry for the last two hours but I'll go check anyway. I'll just have to throw slammers for a while at night. won't be able to get my other jr fixed for a bit. oh well. that's fishing.
  10. My Tuesday deadline for catching a night fish has come and gone without a fish. It was a bad night tonight. Got out a little late and went to casting my black wake jr. Had a swirl on it but no real take (I did set the hook). Went to cast back out to it and *pop*. Line snaps and bait goes flying. I saw the rings where it landed in about 30ft of water and sized it up. Got my shoes off and wallet and cellphone put up and then saw two friggin snakes swimming around where I had to go. F! I looked around and the parking lot was empty. No wind and only 7 minutes from home I fly home, get my kayak with lights and fly back through Copland. I pull down to the launch and there's a boat there. WTF!?! I asked if they'd been out long and they said yeah we've been here a while (remember I left so they didn't know I had been there 15 minutes previous). I then asked (and already knew the answer) if they had seen a black bait floating around. They answered real quick that they hadnt and moved off to a point. I unloaded the kayak real quick and went straight to where the bait was and nothing. No bait. My gut sank. I started to paddle over to where they were about a hundred yards out and they fire up and haul azz. Pissed to the hilt I loaded up the yak and decided to throw a rago rat along the shoreline. third cast I stuck it in a tree and broke it off. F! I reeled up the rest of my line, threw that ish in the truck and came home. I need a new lake.
  11. It's Tuesday. Fishing some newer water tonight to try to get bit. Start with Rising Sons until the sun gets a little lower then switch to the black wake jr. We shall see.
  12. Needing a floater or SS TT in 6-7". Used is fine. Paypal at the ready. Let me know.
  13. This is my setup for night fishing. Cobra Navigator kayak, custom LEDs, fish finder, go pro mount etc etc. just thought you guys might want to see what I was using out here in the middle of nowhere.
  14. thanks guys. determined to get that night bite before next tuesday.
  15. I know I'll get the gambit of answers but I am waiting on 1 Jr to get here and another is in the ICU for a bit. I have a 7" Slammer and a Mini Slammer with the rat tail. Should I work these on a steady retrieve late tonight or does a pause and twitch seem to work better for you? Didnt know if the majority leaned one way or another. I'll be over some rocky boulders on a pretty quick ledge on a point. Water is clear and little grass if any. No timber. I also have a protected cove that has some grass that I might be fishing. Water is about 4ft deep on the flat in the back. Ninja night 3 is tonight! GoPro is charged and ready to go.
  16. If I had either I'd send them to you. Bump for you. Hope you find em soon.
