  1. Thanks man, it was driving me nuts...
  2. LOL, No, that's just you, and where you live.
  3. R.O.F.? Still middle column, or is it a bottom dragger bait in the top hook version, specifically upper column, not sub surface, but still capable of going slow enough? Man, I should just see if someone has a review...Thx. The top hook falls quite a bit faster than the bottom hook. I view it as a bottom dragger or deeper water column bait where the top hook is a just sub-surface or slow upper column bait. Thanks, I took my advice and found the review, (there's two pages of reviews now! and the RS has two pages!!). So it does fall fast (1'/sec), It seems like two different baits really, one of each I guess, though I really like the Missionfish for the bottom, or I can wait for the weedless version(?). Thx.
  4. R.O.F.? Still middle column, or is it a bottom dragger bait in the top hook version, specifically upper column, not sub surface, but still capable of going slow enough? Man, I should just see if someone has a review...Thx.
  5. I was thinking the same thing, wish i would have said something earlier... What a fish! It's amazing how many of you guys fish from shore and do so well. But, and I don't want to hijack this thread(LOL), but where was this vid. about "Stall" or "R.O.S."? I can't seem to find it anywhere, or who made it? Thx in advance.
  6. Thanks, that's what I thought I read somewhere before. Top hook it is.
  7. Nice...If you get the top hook version, does it give you the option of both top and bottom, or do you have to modify either? Congrats, and good luck, they're sweeeet.
  8. "Stall"? Didn't I just see a vid about this(SouthernTroutEaters?), referring to a baits ability to "stall" in the strike zone(R.O.S.), in relation to it's R.O.F.? I was hoping to get more information...
  9. Bucks. I mentioned the 'Pack in the other thread, I've only fished it a couple times, I know it get's crazy busy with pleasure boaters, so much so that we just stay away in the summer months.
  10. This is really good to hear. When I read Mickey hit his three biggest fish consecutively, on a 7" Missionfish, I knew I had some stocking up to do(that, and I can't afford any of the "hard stuff"). So stoked.
  11. I could make the "east coast" SML VA, get together, but would prefer to stay closer to home(PA), any lakes in mind?
  12. Don't want to hijack this thread, but when do, or would you use a sissy colored bat?
  13. I don't know if it(or they) really fit the bill, but closer for the CT, NJ, and NY guys, and not to far for OH, MD, or VA...Raystown, or Wallenpaupack in PA?
  14. 15lbs 13oz. Thanks is the floating BBZ a trout?
  15. Almost all the lakes I fish have Pike and sometimes Musky in them, that said some are infested with them while there are others where I will catch them on occason. The infested lakes would be a good place to use the more affordable / replaceable baits like the BBZ, the others I will fish the premium 316 baits etc and I'm willing to risk a bite off. Did get a couple of Hudds bit off last fall but fortuneately didn't lose any of my premium hard baits. I hope to have the same luck in 2012. I have some kongs and other cheap baits I t throw when the toothies are really really bad. I did it a ton when I started out but as the years have gone on I have thrown my good baits more and more. I have done the same thing, and use plastics(Hudds, Missionfish ect.) on the bottom
  16. Christ! I'm over 40, and just bought a "new" Arbor Axis, to go with my other Arbor Long board(early model, when Sector 9 made their boards). Bomb the big hills around here with a group of "skatin'" buddies(all in our late 30's or 40's). NO FEAR! Longboarders RULE! Back to the topic, I agree with the almost everything that was said, $ was a huge issue, and I wasted a lot on inferior baits, and equipment, but I adapted. Work with what you got, and just go out and do it. You're never going to learn until you do. Like everyone around here saying you gotta have this, or that(3:16 wake jr. for example), well I would like to get one(eventually), but maybe I should learn a little about the technique first, work my way into it. There are plenty of alternative baits out there(usually cheaper), that are quality, fish catchers, so I work with them, and learn everyday that I go out. I haven't caught the fish I'm looking for, but I have definitely up'ed the average, and as the weather gets better I'm sure my hunt for a new PB will come to fruition. The persitence, or all out dedication to the technique is what I needed, and what most need, and what I get from this site(and others). After bad days, come on here, and read the stories, and post...It gives me the desire to head back out in the morning. NO FEAR! JUST DO IT!
  17. New here, but this is definitely interesting, I'm in PA(Philly). What about Lake Wiley(?)
  18. Right, 68's going for some bucks on Ebay, but not that much really, depends on the color, but roughly between $35-$75, of course it all depends on the day. Close, but Ebay 6" FS goes for over $100 easy, any day. When is Mr. Huddleston release some more 68's?!
  19. When you post stories like the previous ones,(that had to be dragged out of you), and always quick with advice(most of the time pretty good at that)...let's face it, you're not posting enough, you need a "Don's Fishing Corner" thread. Where Don can be Don, and we can ask questions, and sit at the feet, in awe, of a master.LOL.
  20. Thanks Don, GREAT stories. You should have your own thread.
  21. Wouldn't a larger meal(larger bait) make them more likely to move? Even in the coldest temps, wouldn't they come get some fat meal just barely moving, whether on the bottom or floating on the surface? Thus, you have to cast less, but still cover the water your fishing completely. At least this is what I've been trying for.
  22. You and I have discussed my PB, and where it was caught(was on a T-rigged lizard), and was before noon, but after 9.
  23. Im with you on that one man! It was nice meeting a new fellow swimbaiter like you whos actually respectful and doesnt have a problem shooting the bullshit for a while i had like 4 different swimbaiters giving me the frkn stink eye today for no fkn reason. Looking at me like they own the lake.Theres cool ones out there its just those other "cool guys" give us swimbaiters a bad name! i even had someone say they thought i would be a dick just because i had a swimbait rod in my hand! hahaha.I got the silent treatment a couple times today. lol I FKN HATE THAT ish. those r the guys who think there cool cuz they throw a big bait. PUNK ASS WANNABEEZ! im about to throw the next "tough guy" in the fkn lake if he looks at me like that again. or maybe just a 8 inch swimmy to the head to knock some sense into them!lol. Let's face it, it is rather clique'ish...reminds me a lot of H.S..I know I've alienated a lot of my fishing friends, mainly because it's not a technique that is conducive to fishing with others, especially when they're not using swimbaits. I think a lot of us forget that it's just fishing.
  24. That is a great price, good to know what customs start at too. Love the "Standard Issue" name, it invokes a certain mystique.
  25. Thanks, always good to know.
