  1. We out today for a couple hours at dvl. Got there bout 11am an started poundin the shore line with th cl8 9" trout. Today was crazy windy n rainy couldnt really see if I had followers. Made it all the way to the main point by east dam with nothin. Then I noticed a lil swirl behind my sb then a nother n all of a sudden wham!! 11.76 lb striper slamed it an took off spittin drag. Fought for about 45 sec an was it fightin.
  2. I just found the 7" stocker bass cant wait to throw it!
  3. An see its crazy cuz all my sb bass came on the soft plastic sb.. Im lookin for my first 3:16 baits but still no luck. Im gunna keep throwin the cl8 for now. I have had some good hits on the cl8 it jus seems that the soft plastic produced more an bigger fish than hard. An after my buddy fisher stuck his 12 lber in front of my on my 10" trout. My fait in soft plastic grows more and more.
  4. I figured it was a long shot... Seems like the people who have em dont wanna let em go n the people who dont have em want em.... vicious cycle
  5. Ok so I went to dvl today bout 2 to catch the last hours of afternoon bite. I have been throwin my new cl8 9" trout since I got it 3 weeks ago. I was throwin it today with a couple followers but no takers. I decided to throw on the 10" platinum n first cast I had a blow up but missed the hook set. It seemed bout every other cast with the soft body trout got a strike! Weather it was floatin on the surface or just slow swimmin under the surface I got more action on my $10 soft plastic bait then my high dollar cl8. Is it the noise of the hard baits that make it seem unnatural? Im hesitant to buy another hard body swimbait now... Has any body else exp this scenario with there baits?
  6. Im lookin for a floating wake jr or freestyle in baby bass.. Can any body help me out?
  7. Thanx guys ill post on the black market..... I have a cl8 trout in 9" an love it but I like the looks of an actual bass bait. From what I have seen the triple n cl8 are jus trout bodys painted bass. Hopefully I can find a wake jr from what I have read n heard might b my best bet.
  8. so I have been lookin around for a floating baby bass swimbait. Theres a ton of choices out there but I need just one for now. I was lookin at the mattlure hard bass an tryin to find a wake jr in bass! Any suggestions on what to get or were to look?

  13. I was poundin the shore line with fisher today at dvl an crossed paths with a guy throwin 2 8" huddles on one line. It looked like it was tied the same way a drop shot rig would. I guess he hooked up a pretty good striper on this set up today. I asked him bout it smiled n said well you better not get a back lash lol. Any body else ever try this rig or know how to rig it?
  14. lol real nice to have buddys let you use there lure to catch hogs lol that fish was awesome...
  15. X2 lol..... Since only throwin for short time ill have to say dead stickin soft swimbaits along shore with a pretty good wind.
  16. Bait : castaic platinum swimbait trout/bass Rod : shimano clarus 8' power h action fast Reel: shimano curado 301e
  17. My first pink plug! I sanded down my old z plug an thought pink would b a good color. I keep readin bout these color baits n though id give it a go...
  18. Lol I get butteflys every time I c a follower comein up on my wake bait. I love that feelin especially when they smack the hell outta of it..... Im hooked for sure
  19. I watched a few youtube vids on big bass an swim baits were the number one type of lure bein used. I have caught a few 7 n 8 lb bass on the roboworm but no dd bass. So I figured the best way to reach that goal is big baits. No dd as of yet but im a firm beleaver in the big bait theory so I keep throwin.
  20. Went to dvl with fisher to throw the big baits. I had one blow up an a good kiss from a lb-lb.5 lmb on the cl8 9" trout. Fisher managed to hook up on the 10" trout but ill let him post the pic. I got skunked but still fun throwin the sb!
  21. Welcome! Im pretty new to this great site aswell but in my short time of fishin the big baits both my sb bass wer on a soft plastic sb. I like to use the 10" platinum trout from castaic sb. I use the butch brown rig with hooks on the head for dead stickin. Dont like belly hooks when the fish r staring at the bait from underneath. I heard the huddle 0 riged the same way works great as well.
  22. Fisher an I was fishin dvl a couple weeks back throwin the 10" trouts an ran into this guy throwin a craw jig. He proceeted to lecture us about the cons of throwin swimbaits sayin theres no point to throwin big baits I can catch the same fish on my jig. Said ive throwin a huddle an couldint even get a follower big baits r usless. I could see he was gettin a lil flusterd cuz we were throwin the big baits n he would not stop. The next trip we ran into the same guy an the same preachin till I stuck my 7 in front of him on the 10". Lol now when we see him its swimbait this n swimbait that n how many fish have fallowed his swimbait. I was a beleaver n the big baits before I even got one. Now that ive landed a 5 n 7 lb bass on a big bait im really hooked.
  23. Im startin to see the picture I think..... bein a skilled swimbaiter catchin 5-9 lb year round is better than a spawn baiter catchin records 1 month outta the year. I think ill take skill an dedication bass.
  24. Welcome! All kinds of great info here
