  1. Good deal on the camera.......i use an older GoPro when the temps are over 90, because the newer ones shut down from the heat.
  2. eerily similar to a couple years ago when there were some issues........hope not
  3. I bend the hook up level with the top of the bait......i wait a bit on settling the hook after taking up the slack I try to boat flip most of these just to keep the bend in the rod and hook pinned
  4. March 2023. The was a cruiser fish that was hanging out under some floating docks. The fish would come out to look at baits, then go back under the docks. The water was silted up, because just around the corner some guys were working on a boat and revving the engines throwing silt all around. I'd see glimpses of the fish in the pockets of clear water, or right as i was lifting up the bait. Made the call to go to a big profile bait, and it worked out. I got a shout out from my friend Joe Rogan on his podcast with Cliff Gray (podcast #1955 about the 1:30:20 park) Also posted on the SUTV

  6. I'm a big fan of the large tubes.......the 8 inch Tiger tube. This was a 11+ fish a few years back under the train bridge and a 12lb 12 oz fish that i'm editing the video on
  7. golf gloves in warm weather......winter golf gloves in cold weather no problem tying knots or thumbing reels
  8. i run the Hero2 in the hot weather.......very rarely overheat even in the clear case. Can't fire up the Hero 9, 10 or 11 in 100 degree weather for more than a few minutes before they shut down, even with remote power, no battery, and reduced settings
  9. super glue and baking soda.......build it up. i rebuilt the hinge on this one, after landing it on a rock and snapping it in half https://www.instagram.com/p/BcdMYCUBPW_/?utm_source=ig_web_copy_link&igshid=MjAxZDBhZDhlNA==
  10. I know about 6 guys that caught SALs on Lake Austin (my home lake). But the lake was absolutely ruined by the same state agency that runs SAL. They bent the knee to the Real Estate PACs and approved the stocking of 55 grass carp per vegetated acre of the lake (fish paid for my private interests).....11X the recommended limit recommended in a white paper by their own PhD fisheries biologist. I know guys that have caught fish on Austin, that refuse to give TPWD any free pub for a 13lb fish, so it's released. I caught a 12-12oz fish a couple months ago.....my first attempt on the scale was between 13 and 14lbs......on dry land without the boat bobbing yielded just short of 13. That fish would not have been submitted to the program. Additionally, TPWD might put brood from your fish back in Lake Austin, but they have provided virtually zero stocking the last 10 years of any gamefish or food chain biomass. Social media blasts don't ensure the growth of the fishery it was 2014 (i think) that BassMaster listed Lake Austin as the #3 bass lake in the US......the following year after the carp it wasn't in the top 100...........but the individual homes and lots on the lake are worth multi millions, as there is none of that nasty grass to get sucked into a wake surf boat fat sack
  11. If it is a JDM model, Daiwa USA won't touch it Otherwise they were pretty responsive
  12. I added Active Target about 6 months ago. The transducer is on a Rite-Hite Turret, not on the TM. The lake i fish has very little cover other than docks. It's amazing the number of fish under docks that you cannot see with side scan. Nor can you get a lure to them when the docks have less than a couple inches of clearance above the water line. I had a single 12 inch Lowrance HDS on the bow with a Fortrex. Now Ghost TM, Dual 12in HDS Live units, Active Target
  13. Dont confuse this with Mike's Reel Repair in Canada......solid guy.....did work on my Blacksheep when nobody in the US i contacted would touch it. He does Diawa JDM stuff, when Diawa USA would not.
