Had the day off and got out for a couple hours in the kayak. Got some action right off the bat on a 6"wooden bluegill. The key was to try to get the longestest glide possible with some pauses in the mix. I landed my first fish of the day and then proceeded to loose the next four. A lot of the hits were short strikes or weak hits. I missed a good fish next to a lay down and let it rest for a couple hours and came back with a sheller cracker. Tossed it next to the laydown and was letting it sit there and then it disappeared. No noise, no splash, gone. reel up the slack set the hook hard, watch the fish jump twice and spit the the hook. So 1 for 5 on hookups with a missed heavy four. Could have been a really productive day.
