Selling a custom-wrapped XH rod built on a Phenix 838 Black Diamond Hybrid blank. The rod has been wrapped by a reputable local builder with years of experience wrapping for a well known rod company. The dimensions are: - 8' 2" length (an inch chopped from the tip to add stiffness) -17" handle from butt to beginning of foam on handle behind reel -Fuji reel seat -Fuji microguides (I forget size) -Spiral wrapped to the right with black threads on all guides -Basic foam split grip handle with silver thread highlights by reel and butt -Weight added to the butt to balance the rod at the reel (when fitted with a Lexa 300) This is a pretty versatile rod, it works best with 3-5oz. It can throw up to 6oz comfortably, and down to 2oz if necessary. Because of the shortened tip it has a slightly more moderate action than the stock Hybrid series, and would serve well for jig hook baits as well. I used it lightly for approx. 1 year, and it has been well taken care of. The blank itself retails for $179, plus figure in approx. $150+ for parts and labor. Asking $170 + $20 shipping. The rod has been wrapped by a reputable local builder with years of experience wrapping for a well known rod company. The dimensions are: - 8' 6" length -18" handle from butt to beginning of foam on handle behind reel -Fuji reel seat -Fuji microguides (I forget size, the tip is larger than the others, as it was the smallest size able to fit on the blank) -Spiral wrapped to the right with black threads on all guides -Basic foam split grip handle with silver thread highlights by reel and butt -Weight added to the butt to balance the rod at the reel (when fitted with a Lexa 300) This is a very stout rod, with a pretty fast tip. It doesn't flex deeply until it's throwing heavier baits 6oz and up. I'd say it shines between 6-10oz. The heaviest bait I've thrown on it is the Hinkle Trout, which is 10+oz I believe, and it felt like it could have done more without issue. The tip does allow it to fling hudds easily, and it's strong enough to set the hook on jig hook hudds from far away with mono (I've tried and it works). It throws 6oz baits like the 250 easily all day. I used it moderately for approx. 1 year, and it has been well taken care of. The blank itself retails for $199, plus figure in approx. $150+ for parts and labor. Asking $150 + $20 shipping. Please PM for serious inquiries, not interested in trades.
