Nice work man, gillrilla is a sick bait.

Try a slammer on top or cranking. I'd give the tiny klash a shot as well, makes some good noise under water. Can't go wrong with the gantarel either.

Thank fellas, looking to repeat tomorrow night!

Summertime funk is officially over. Decided to switch things up and pull an all-nighter Friday into Saturday morning with my good bud Pat (Pplush). We fished an incoming storm front and it was on. Stuck a few from 8-11pm and lost a few good ones (they were some slippery sick nasty boys). We knew the front was rolling in so we geared up for the rain and moved toward a few hot spots on the pond. A few more decent fish in the boat and the rain started just before midnight. The morale was up high on the boat and we could feel a good size fish coming. The rain picked up & we moved along a bank that we hadn't touched yet in the night where we had seen some bruisers in past trips. Slammer seemed to lose attention so I switched back to my trusty 4PC Phat Pats Perch. 3 casts in after the switch the big fish slump was busted on a long cast parallel to the pad line on a steep bank. 7lb2oz stud in the net and we were stoked. The bite slowed a bit after that but we stuck with it landing a few more decent size fish. At 3am after we were nearly spent, I picked up the Phat Pats once again about 20 yards from where the magic happened earlier in the night making a similar long cast and hooked up to another boat turner. With the 867 on full flex, I could feel the fish digging hard. Popped her in the net and revived the stoke with a 6lb3oz chunk. It felt awesome to get the slump monkey off my back after a long summer with little to show for. Thanks Pat for the non stop laughs and good times out there on the water. Couldn't have done it without ya holmes. 7-2 6-3

Baby wake is a great twitch in place bait and walks very well. 99% of the time I am twitching / walking the bait. It will produce a subtle wake but I feel as though the twitch and pause is much more effective. Does not crank down very well (done believe it's designed too) The Wake JRs I've had will do it all. Wake very well, twitch / walk is great as well. They will even dive a few feet on flouro. I have not fished the 10" wake but have seen one in action, very large profile bait with some weight to it. I'm sure it's got some great drawing power.
