    Baby hph spot

Got a new curado the other day and tied on a hph and went down the dock to try the reel out granted it is a minnow.
  5. Should be able to look at google maps. Not sure what kind of fishing you are going to do it might be halfway decent but most fish don't spawn in current and if you are going near the dam there is a ton of current. Also be very careful I have seen two people lose a lower unit and one lose a trolling motor due to rocks. Hope you get some.

  7. All you guys are making some sick looking rats I sure would like to test some on some alabama fish haha. Keep up the good work and I hope you get a slaunch on em.
  8. I have one was just wondering I anyone else has acquired this bait and has fished it lately or has any reviews. Hopefully I will be catching fish on it very soon.
  9. Might try asking some of the guy that work there and they might can point you to some local places that might have what you are looking for.

  11. The hudd fish is from smith lake, dads fish was on a crank bait on pick wick, the 26lb bag of spots were swimbait fish and so were the others.http://i1355.photobucket.com/albums/q71 ... db2e51.jpg. http://i1355.photobucket.com/albums/q71 ... f10977.jpg. http://i1355.photobucket.com/albums/q71 ... 9a5eef.jpg.
  12. I use it for 6 inch baits I started with the treble and found it ripped the bait when the fish took the stinger , with the for hook and paper clip method it will eventually rip the bait but you will get more use and then you can fix it with mend it.

  14. Well I bought one, had a baby Monday so mom and dad kept the dogs and they live on the lake. I had to go get the dogs and thought I might as well take the bait and see how it does. It look just like a threadfin shad coming through the water and moves nice. Caught this little 2 lb spot on the first cast of the dock. A few casts later a nice 3.5 spot missed it . I know it's not much but on a first cast and a miss a few casts later seems like I found something they like. Picture to follow when I figure out how to donut with the I phone. I know you are all excited to see a 2 lber haha.
  15. I use a frog hook and cut a paper clip in half that way it doesn't rip the bait when a fish takes it and it is more streamlined. Good luck.
  16. I have no experience with this bait nor am I as good with tuning or as familiar with swimbaits as most of the guys on here. I am still learning and trying to soak up as much knowledge as I can. But If it were me I would try some crimp on weights on the hooks it won't sink like a rock and won't sink very fast but will sink faster then what you have now. I don't know how deep you are wanting it to go but you will still have to wait for it to sink for a bit, if it doesn't work or swim right the only thing you will lose is a buck in weights so it's worth the try. Good luck and post feedback as I am looking at buying a bait.
  17. Thanks for the reply, I think I might try one just to see if it might have been the one you got worst case scenario I will take it back so I guess I really have nothing to lose.
  18. I was wondering if anyone had used a jackall sride and what you thought of them. I was looking at purchasing one and I know it is only 30$ but if it sucks I would rather save the money. It most resembles the coosa river size shad we have here in alabama and think it would be a good size for both spots and largemouths. Thanks for any help.
  19. Man they look awesome I have been wanting one forever but I just had my first baby yesterday so it looks like I am going to have to wait on this one. How were you lucky enough to get one. That's a nice rat.
  20. Congrats man that is a monster spot. What did he devour if you don't mind me asking.
  21. Not to mention most all the fish this time of year are at maximum weight due to the fact they are full of eggs and ready to spawn. They are normally lethargic and will feed at certain times o the day, if you are at the right place at the right time it really doesn't matter what you throw. I had rather be throwing a swimbait when it is 40 to 50 degrees instead of 90 to 100 any day haha.

    Dads fish

Yeah there is nothing like fishing with your dad. He caught it on a crank bait, he doesn't throw swimbaits. I am proud of it for him, the fish were feeding on the smallest shad you could think of and wouldn't touch anything . Talked to some guys who were throwing the a rig all day with 4 inch swimbaits for 3 bites, granted they were 3 plus pounds. It was tough but I always enjoy time on the water with dad
