  1. I think im gonna make a Kitten bait now!!! The next big craze in top water baits! Post some picks when you start sticking em!
  2. I'll tell you what really helped me. Turn your air pressure down. Like was said above, a little bit gpes a long way. You'll get it all figured out!
  3. I really enjoy the editing style of your videos.
  4. Nice work! I figured they were resin for sure!
  5. its fun as s#1+ to catch em in the proto stages! Nice job!
  6. Two things 1: I love that Punker! its still got the thread wrap for the feather treble, but no feathers left! 2: Are you on a stand up paddle board? I heard they are actually pretty good fishing platforms.
  7. GOOD GOD that bass is ugly, but I kind of like it!
  8. Good point Ceaser. Look at the Bull Shad. Ugliest joints in the industry, but it catches em. I think it all depends on if youre selling or not. a clean joint has some shelf appeal.
  9. Ill take the other 175. PM Sent
  10. I am with you, I hate that you can see the eye screws, but I dont think the fish really care. Case in point the Bull Shad, Gliding Gizzard, etc.. I like the door hinge idea in theory, but it makes proto typing a PITA and its hard to make everything look pretty. I have stuck with the eye screws. It allows you to tune your bait in and if you make the right joints you cant see them too bad.

    Roll

A lot of it has to do with the length of your body segments. Try adjusting your ratio of head and tail lengths.
  12. GTW7983! HOLY MOTHER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  13. I guess what I am seeing here is that the manufacturers don't know when the value of their products will decline. In an attempt to keep an even keel they price them at the price they believe they will be worth when the demand drops and everything levels out. I guess ill look at it like this: Picasso sold a painting in 1955 for $14.2 thousand. It just sold for $180 million. More than ten thousand times he sold it for 60 years ago. People will pay what it costs for something they want. No way to guess what that number is I guess. It just seems unfair to the artists who spend a significant amount of time getting a bait right and really dialed in.
  14. Guys, This question is based off a post I just read in the underground section of the site. This might explode on me, but I am just trying to look at this logically. Please understand that this is not meant to ruffle any feathers, but I work in sales and I am trying to understand the economics of swimbaits. In sales, you want to sell your products for the highest price you believe people are willing pay regardless of what it cost you to make it. The perceived value to the customer should be what dictates your selling price. IE: A Ranger boat likely does not cost significantly more to build than a Nitro boat, but they are able to retail for much more due to a perceived value. So my question is if people are willing to pay higher than the retail price for these really hard to get baits, like the Hinkle stuff, why aren't the manufacturers selling them at that price rather than selling them to a "flipper" at half the current market value. Why give your profit away? I am trying to figure out is why swimbaits are such an underground economy.
  15. This stuff should work https://www.ispikeit.com/Store/p-284-sb-coat-black-3003.aspx
  16. I really appreciate everyone's input on this topic. Glides have been one of those styles of baits I have not been able to really dial in. I think what it comes down to is I have been trying to fish them too fast. Most hard swimbaits I throw are speed baits (Bull shad, triple trout, etc...) What I understand is that I should treat this style of baits similarly to how I fish a Hud. Slow and steady with some pauses added in and maybe a pop of the rod or two. I love the idea of throwing them down the side of a dock and getting it to actually glide under. I have always made casts across corners, but the bait only ends up being under the floats for a couple seconds. This has been the most informative post I have seen on this site. Thanks SBU and everyone who has contributed!
  17. Take the Hud tail and use a ton o Mend It. Its actually a chemical bond not a glue type bond. It should be fine. Sorry about your Mag though. That sucks.
