Trying to get a new bait that is now impossible to get is far more a issue than money for me. So every time I tie one of those baits on I hope it comes back. 100 bucks is nothing, try a OG Pats Gill from back in the day lol.

He's a good dude, been a friend for a dozen or so years.
-
He tagged along in my boat a couple of weeks ago we were throwing his new little perch bait, smallies killed it as well as lake trout. He is really busy, I actually had to bring him back to the dock at noon that day.

I prefer a faster reel for glides. 7:1 ish.
-
I sent one to Milliken, Utoob feature should be any day now.
-
I wonder what I could get for all my Pats?
-
Unless smallie fishing bb rig it. just make sure the hook is light enough so the bait doesn't roll.

How big is the Garmin? It dwarfs the 9.
-
Nailed it.

I was one of those "it's cheatin" guys till recently but when active target 1 went on sale I bought it with a 9" live graph and it certainly is a great tool to have. No more wasting time casting where the fish "should" be and actually casting to fish. I will say, just because they are there doesn't mean they will eat. It gets frustrating and I often waste time trying to figure out how to get inactive fish to bite. The fish obsessed mount is a must have in my opinion also. It has a zero offset so the transducer isn't tilted like the stock mount.

It works well in the tea colored water around here, Started throwing pink colored soft plastics years ago and then pink infiltrated the swimbait game. The tail on the baby possum in my profile pic is actually pink.

Finding a hook for the front that wont get hung up in the joint is a trick with this bait. I'm still tinkering.

your hudd stinks

Sounds like a left handed thread fr Right or left hand reel? Sounds like there is a component that has the opposite thread pattern it should. Like a drag star from a lefty reel on a righty or vice versa. Wierd none the less.

Monroe?

Beast 40 for a reel, don't get a tat 200 or coastal. The revo is a far more rugged reel for around the same money I have both so I can give you me honest opinion. For open water river striper fishing I would be using a 867 so I can bomb cast and have a mechanical advantage to fight a big fish with a longer rod.

Fluorocarbon Line Size Tips/Suggestions for Swimbait Fishing...?
urbanhick replied to DEPS_250's topic in The Underground
I use floro on everything except top water. 16 lb sniper for the small stuff, 18 or 20 lb for the medium stuff and 25lb for the big stuff. I use it because it sinks and has low stretch compared to mono or co poly. -
You aint kidding about pricey.

Cabelas Guidewear extreme for me for ice fishing bibs and regular rain bibs. If its summer and I dont feel like getting soaked it's a light weight cabelas dry tech 2pc rain suit.

What’s your line choice for hard gills ?
urbanhick replied to Born 2 fish's topic in The Underground
16 or 18 lb sniper floro on a phenix M1 MH swimbait rod paired with a daiwa coastal 200. My 2pc hardgill slays. -
If you get one don't put your thumb in the bottle opener and then hang a shaking fish off it, it hurts lol.

New to the big bait game..>Bear with me. Have a rod question
urbanhick replied to champ198's topic in The Underground
Look at the Phenix M1 swimbait rods too, there are 2 and both moderate bend treble hook rods. The only Irod experience I have is with one of the Kaimana I got last season, Nice well built rod with double foot guides. How much does that bait weigh? -
Dam! I have 15 of them maybe I should start dumping them if they are getting that kind of money.

You gotta kneel in front the right guy at a rest stop on 495 I heard.
