  1. Looking for a Hiroshima GillRilla review. Also line/rod recommendations. Have one on the way and was wondering what situations people have found them to be most effective.
  2. For sale is a very lightly used HPH Gliding Gizzard 9" XXS. I would rate this bait as in excellent/like new condition. I can't say this is in a NIB condition because I have fished it a little bit, but it is in excellent shape. It is one of my backups and I just don't know if I will need it. Not interested in trades. Please PM me an offer if you are interested. I will work on getting some pictures up during the lunch hour.
  3. It is actually a horrible price. Way too high, everybody get put off by it. $25 for a soft bait crrrrrrrrrrrrrraaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaazzzzzzzzzzzzzzzyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Please believe this, do not buy these. I want them all for myself.
  4. His grammar has always been impeccable too, unlike my title of this thread. Oh well, we can't all be like Mike.
  5. Anyone know when Mike Disbrow's book on swimbaiting the Midwest will drop? And will Tackle Warehouse or Amazon be carrying it? Can't wait to get it, that guy is a hammer and the cover looks sweet. Mike has shared a few tips with me over the years and he has some real insight into how to get the big girls to bite. This is bound to rank right up there with the best bass fishing books around.
  6. I prefer soft baits. Hard baits are more of a top water thing for me.
  7. I am with Spectrum. Visibility matters.
  8. Yeah, poor Waldrops, that pile of their's has been totally outed. It can be good...
  9. Decided that if I can't beat them, I will join them. What is your favorite bait for fishing brushpiles. I am guessing I will get 20 replies with a Weedless Hudd. Thinking also about the regular jig hook models (I have over 30 of those in ROF 12)? What about Top Hook Rising sons? Any others you like?
  10. If by swimbaits in Texas you mean jigs and blue fleck power worms, then yes............ And Alan, I did not know you were capable of wearing the badge of honor. It must be tough indeed if even you aren't catching them. I think things are about to get good.
  11. Oh yeah (although I don't need the weedless in my lake)!
  12. Still for sale? If so please send pics.
  13. Got a waker in green back, could have got a cranker (they weren't sold out), but passed. Now I am thinking maybe I should have. Oh well. I wanted a smaller wake bait for covering water and I think I got one.
  14. My account is ao78750.
  15. Update after some soul searching. I will take $400 for the bait. Here is the only blemish on the bait:
  16. Looking for a floating freestyle shad floater in either blue shad, green shad, or lavender shad. I am looking for a bait without much wear, if any. (prefer a like new condition, but I am a realist). If you have one you'd like to sell, PM me with a picture or two of the bait and what you'd take for it.
  17. I have a virtually like new condition Mother Triple in the U.S. Trout color. There is one small hook point, but otherwise the bait is in virtually new condition. No box. Trying to figure out if I want to let it go or not. If you think you might want to get it from me, let me know what you would pay for it. No trades. It is a beautiful bait and I am only selling because the lake I fish has made a drastic change over the last year an these kinds of baits are just not that effective for me anymore. I am in a use it or lose it mentality..... Thanks.
  18. No entries? Might have to drag the boat out in the AM. Chocolate milk be damned!!!

    Golf

Anyone on here golf when not swimbait fishing? I took the game up a little over a year ago when I moved to a golf course community and was stuck at home helping my wife take care of our new baby (and also our older daughter). It was a lot easier to get permission to play a quick nine holes than drag the boat to the lake for the day. I am back to fishing decently regularly, but also still enjoy playing golf once or twice a week. I suck, but hey I play to have fun and not pay my mortgage, so it is all good.

    LDC XH

Just thought I would add a few quick thoughts. I have acquired an 8.5' XH Custom with split handles and it is a beast when it comes to throwing Hudds and similar sized baits. I can launch those puppies farther with the XH than with any other rod I own and it is not even close. I haven't caught any giants on it yet, but it handles five pounders with ease and has just the right amount of flex to keep them pinned. Very happy with this rod, you can't go wrong with it if you are looking for a Hudd rod.
