  1. Anyone have extras on either bait or want to sell them let me know. Stocking up on some soft baits for the cold. Only looking for sinking baits, medium to fast. no floaters. Thanks. PM me
  2. Mine ripped after 1 3lb fish haha. The weedless 68 holds up better.
  3. My goal for 2014 is to gain more knowledge of locating fish from my boat. It's been a tough learning curve getting off the bank and now learning a lot of the deeper mountain lakes I have available. Both are already known as "tough" swimbait lakes. I have had More big follows in the past few months than ever. Including two fish over 10lbs all the way to my toes. So I think learning angles, reading my sonar with knowledge and fishing with some of my more experienced friends will help a lot this year. Baby steps. Rad thread! Inspiring
  4. My motto is "fish for one bite all day" it will eventually happen if you do enough homework about larger fish and how they feed/where. I'm on a long slump right now, but still fish just as hard. Keep the confidence, maybe find other people in your area that are successful swimbait fisherman and ask for advice.
  5. Nice! My first swimbait was long before I new what the word ment. I got a castaic hardhead gill for Xmas when I was probably 12 in 97' or 98ish. Think it was the year they released. Can't remember the rod I used but I had an old quantum energy with 12lb mono lol. Caught some of my first big fish on it growing up in Orange County fishing the community lakes out there. Stopped fishing for years through most of my teenage years and just picked back up from where I started about a year and a half ago. I'll never forget fishing again, or take it for granted. Thanks for the cool post! Nice to think back Throwback pic Casitas around 98 right before high school and girls kicked in! Hahaha
  6. Got screwed by Jared Kiernan. Any one who has one and can help a brother out, I'd be grateful. Just got bailed on by a member on a sale. Thanks
  7. Back up got scammed on a different site. Getting my money back. Geez...people are shady. Anyone want to help a brother out? Thanks
  8. Is it possible to have the event at another lake? Just a thought.
  9. I've been in a slump from my boat for a few months, it's a whole new learning experience getting off the shore. Figuring angles out, making long casts, fishing uphill. One thing I've noticed though is that the bigger followers I'm pulling come from spots that are near the deepest water in the lake. Aka "deep water access points". Just my thoughts. Big fish have an affinity for deep water. Not to say they won't come up off a steep ledge or wall that may seem shallow from above the water. It's always from a deeper pocket for me. But I have yet to start landing good fish from my boat, learning all alone with no help makes it a long road haha. Fishing from the bank can be easier at times but also limiting. It's all a time invested equals profit and knowledge ordeal for me.
  10. Found one thanks though...people are crazy with deps prices lol - funny thing is most of the guys selling these baits for so much don't even catch fish
  11. Im in. I Have a bass boat, Ranger 481 vs need an experienced partner. Havent fished Irvine in over a decade. Sounds like a good time.
  12. I've got a Luna 300 (very comparable to my 400 te) for sale in the black market section. $175 tyd I throw the BIG stuff on it. Hinkle 11", Hiroshima 13", etc
  13. If your local to Los Angeles and want to pick it up I'll let it go for $175 Or I can throw in a irod jumbo swimbait rod to make it a combo for $225 Great set up for baits as big as a mother or hinkle. And smaller baits. Need it gone to fund a boat fix. Thanks
  14. Selling my daiwa Luna 300. Just picked it up from being serviced, cleaned and tuned. Casts super smooth, comparable reel to the 400 te. $190 tyd
  15. I've been paying attention to only barometric pressure. Low pressure systems are getting me bit more and consistently.
