  1. I appreciate the feedback. Thank you. I know I need to focus and keep throwing. Maybe I should focus on a couple baits to throw, not 8. Maybe 1 soft body, 1 hard body and 1 topwater. I will find that bite, the one I am looking for. Frustration only fuels. Sooner or later I will find a big fish who will eat. I wouldn't have it any other way. The chase, the hunt, trying to find that bite. That is why I fish. That is why I can dedicate myself to throwing big baits all day, for days and days and not hook up. I am willing to put my time in, and know that it will pay off sooner or later. I choose to spend my time in hopes that my focus and drive will help me find that bite. I am frustrated, yes. But I will not give it up. A pep talk. I do this a lot, in hopes that I can maintain my head and stay on task while fishing. Pick my shots and find the angles. The strike zone is paltry. The right place, the right time. ish man, I have to find a bite!
  2. I am frustrated. I am in a slump. I have been throwing big baits religiously every chance I can for the past 9 months and still have yet to entice a big fish to eat. With a handful of dinks and a lot of time on the water, I am learning. I haven't lost any ambition though, but I am starting to wonder what it is I am doing wrong. I know that big bites don't come easy, I know that you need to keep your head down and keep throwing. I just cant make sense of the fact that I have been putting in serious work and am yet to have that pb hookup! I do everything I know to do, and cant figure out how to get a big bite. I live in Arizona, and I know there are some guys out here killin it, throwing swimbaits on the same water I am fishing. My buddies give me a hard time, telling me that throwing swimbaits is a waste of time. They are always telling me to stick to senkos, drop shot, or a spinnerbait. Those baits can ALWAYS produce. Their heckling keeps me determined, I will find a big fish that will eat. I just need to figure out how? I don't just cast, I find the best cast given what I am looking at. I change up my retrieve, always trying something else. I target points, ledges, drop-offs, bank angles, underwater structure. I fish on the top, sub surface, deep. I throw a handful of different baits. I just cant figure out how to hookup. Is there anyone that can give me some wise words, something that can keep me focused?
