  1. they definitely sent a follow up email to remind everyone of the 6-8week time frame. i think mine took over 4 weeks even though i live in CA as well.
  2. they're on sale right now on the website....
  3. weedless hudd seems like it would be a better option than rigging with light mono?
  4. I'm up in the Bay Area but head down to SLO several times a year. My friends graduated from there and then it just became an easy wknd trip. Been looking at some lakes on Google maps and had thought about bringing a rod next time. Will hit you up next time I head down. How far is the drive to the lakes from SLO?
  5. There are some fatties by the boat rentals waiting for the trout fisherman to drop the worms into the water after they're done fishing
  6. IF the next release is a shad and IF I get a spot at the head of the line for doing the video contest, I'll hook you up for my cost + shipping. That's friggin awesome
  7. i'll take the black dog small shellcracker. check your PM. thanks, Alex
  8. dont worry, been out to 3 lakes over the last 2 weekends for short afternoon sessions without a fish. only one bite i got was when i was totally in the zone, focused on getting the hudd to make contact to the bottom (slow wind). i think the key is to not pay attention to the fish
  9. NICE fish and great effort! I was actually down in LA that Friday they planted, but had meetings all day and couldnt sneak off. Castaic to Compton and back to Castaic for 45mins of fishing in the rain......... hardcore. I was waiting for you to say that you live in Cerritos or something. We need to start a MPF - miles per fish - counter
  10. wow you guys change very often. just got braid on my daiwa 253, and dont intend to swap it out for at least a year. my saltwater reels are all braid and they never get changed... i just clip off a rod's length for the reels that have very short topshots.
  11. Wow that 10" free style looks a lot like those fatty stocker trouts with the stubby tails

    8.15 Slide Swimmer

im just as impressed by your ability to stand on that kayak as the fish itself
  13. You're in CA. will this reel see any saltwater? I've heard Lexa's don't like saltwater
  14. First bait was purchased 4 week ago from Top Ramen 2 6" weedless Hudds and 1 68 special. Been out twice, mostly throwing the weedless because I'm shorebound and paranoid about losing the 68.. Have since purchased 8 more baits (most still being shipped). Now I just need to catch something that'll shut up my friends

talk about a quick bite!! i'd take that fish anytime. i have been eyeing this one pond that i've been driving by once per week. going to stash a rod in the car the next time i head over there for a meeting.
  16. wow - thanks for the input. sounds like i missed an opportunity to throw the topwater baits. i had thought the topwater baits would get "lost" in all the wind chop, but i guess not. the weather was definitely "fishy" - dark cloudy, windy, pre-frontal.
  17. 1st real swimbait outing by myself yesterday. Only brought one set up and only swimbaits to keep myself honest. The lake was still relatively low, so I started off with a 6 inch weedless hudd. About 3 casts in, I was focused on getting the right retrieve to keep contact with the bottom when I felt tap-tap, like a bass trying to eat a senko. Swung hard and missed!! Almost crapped myself and had a heart attack at the same time! Here's the question... the wind really picked up and I could see the water was really moving in addition to intense wind chop. I thought about switching over to a Slammer, but with all the wind chop and ripping current, I wasnt sure if it would be effective. Thoughts on what kind of swimbaits to fish in such conditions??
  18. I also have still wanted to know for my self what the hook up ratio would be like. That was going to be my follow up. Do you find yourself missing any bites with the weedless? Seems like you're doing just fine without all the treble hook mods..
  19. Are you fishing in cover? You seem to prefer the weedless over other versions
  20. ive also been looking... Ken replied on FB that they're going to release another batch soon
  21. just ordered a couple, and added the shad and minnow just for fun.
